Samford topped the 100-point mark at halftime, taking a 102-50 lead to the locker room before coasting to a 174-99 victory. The Bulldogs made 71-of-111 shots (64%), including 20-of-42 (47.6%) from behind the 3-point line. The Bulldogs might have pushed toward 180 — and closer to Loyola Marymount's Division I record 186 points — but they made just 12-of-21 free throws.

Samford took roughly 2.8 shots per minute, aided by forcing Greenville into 41 turnovers in 40 minutes.

Samford had 10 players score 10 points or more, led by Myron Gordon with 28.
