maybe i am missing something..but he asked where they wanted them to move to and the police said nothing.    he asked a few times but was not informed on where to move to.

my guess is because the Troopers had already told/instructed the crew where to move, and Mr Jimenez was being intentionally obtuse to achieve a goal...

Good. They can legally close his account if they want to. If the manages to get this bulls#!t EO passed then democracy is over for this country.

Oh it's passed but it will get laughed out of any courtroom it ultimately winds up in when they get sued on 1A grounds.

In order to actually enforce what this EO indicates Trump wants to do, it would require an act of Congress which quite simply would never pass the House.

Of course there is editing...the playback starts with the Troopers already there and the other protesters 100 yards away...

What were the initial directives from law enforcement?

As I said: this was taken from a live broadcast; one that continued during the arrest (the camera was still rolling as the police were carrying the production equipment away). Also, as I said: the reporter asks *multiple times* where he and his crew should be, while showing his press credentials. Why didn't the officers give him the instructions then?

Finally, as I said: the governor called CNN directly and apologized, stating "they had every right to be where they were at".

Not everything is a conspiracy.

However it went down, he police on scene showed zero common sense and a complete lack of leadership.  That much cannot be disputed.  Why didn't one of them take charge and escort the crew to another location?  The officers all looked like they didn't know what to do.  I mean, Really?  100 cops in riot gear thumping their clubs staring down a news crew like they're staring down a clan of Hell's Angels armed to the gills.  Meanwhile the city's burning in the background and who know's what else.  Bad look for the cops no matter how you slice it.

That's one hill to die on, I guess.

The whole segment.

Thanks Cdog. The additional footage shows that they were clearly told to "get back" and "move back" which they did not do.

To your credit, in this footage, the Troopers were certainly vague about where "back" is...

The officers were clearly talking to the crowd, including the girl that attempted to run past them.

Yeah, I guess...but clearly those cops are stressed the f#&% out.  That reporter didn't need to be on top of them.  My freaking iPhone can zoom in for video with ease, I am sure his crew can too.

Here is my thought on jobs...don't make other peoples jobs harder than they need to be.   He wasn't really doing anything "wrong" but he also wasn't doing anything right.

This sort of seems like a time when both sides should have used common sense.

I chalk this up to a big old nothing burger.

The later apology by the governor and implication in this statement that the cops didn't know they were media undermines your theory.
