Saunders
Quote Nebraska Cornhuskers Win Total Prediction, What Will Happen There hasn’t been a run of Nebraska football this bad since the mid-to-late 1950s into 1961. From 1962 on, the program turned into a perennial juggernaut with 48 seasons of nine wins or more up until 2017. Scott Frost had a rebuilding job to do, but it’s Nebraska. It’s in the program’s DNA to be in the mix for national championships, and it can’t even come up with a winning season lately. The Huskers haven’t been in the same mix as Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, or even Michigan, and there’s a worse reality than that. Only three Big Ten programs have failed to make a bowl game over the last three years, and they’re the three new guys. Rutgers, Maryland, and Nebraska. But all the pain and suffering is about to end, and potentially in a big way. SET THE NEBRASKA CORNHUSKERS REGULAR SEASON WIN TOTAL AT … 7.5 Sort of like Minnesota last year, Nebraska has a nice early schedule to fatten up on. It’s not as breezy as the Gophers enjoyed, but there’s no excuse to be anything less than 5-2 over the first seven games, and it’s likely the team will be favored in each of the first seven games. The offense should be explosive with all the new receiver talent coming in – to go along with the backfield of QB Adrian Martinez and RB Dedrick Mills – and the defense should be just good enough to get by, even if it’s not fantastic. But the Huskers have to stop screwing up. The penalties that that were such a killer in 2018 slowed down in 2019, but who gets five kicks blocked? Struggles closing – like in the loss to Colorado – problems on both sides in the red zone, issues in pass protection, mediocre special teams … The Huskers have to be tighter. But they’ll go bowling. They’ll go into the Halloween date at Ohio State still alive in the Big Ten chase, and they’ll be a tougher out over the final month. This might not be the Big Red Machine that Husker fans so desperately want, but Frost and the program will pull up out of the nosedive. https://collegefootballnews.com/2020/06/college-football-news-preview-2020-nebraska-cornhuskers/5 Nebraska Cornhuskers Offense 3 Things To Know Nebraska Cornhuskers Defense 3 Things To Know Top Nebraska Cornhuskers Players Nebraska Cornhuskers Keys To The Season 4 Quote Link to comment
seaofred92
This is the best preview I’ve seen yet. Thorough, accurate, in depth, a few nice predictions. Appreciate the work that went into this. 2 Quote Link to comment
Ziebol
As long as we are bowling I will be content. Anything more and I will be doing back flips. 4 Quote Link to comment

84HuskerLaw
We have the potential to win 8 or even 9 with a bowl win. But that requires an exceptionally good year with almost no injuries to the two deep AND great kicking game not just good. Possible but imo odds are about 1 in 4. I was more optimistic before all the lost spring and summer work. We need Adrian the great (not the average). We need O line play up several notches and Blackshirt defensive efforts all season. A bowl game is maybe 60% likely but got to be ready out of the gate to get confidence. 4 Quote Link to comment

We were in the early lines anyway. Honestly rankings as a whole are a crap shoot beyond the top few teams. Its not crazy to envision a scenario where we beat Cincy but go 6-6, and they go 11-1 or 10-2. They would definitely be ranked with that record, and we wouldn't. Also not difficult to see them beating us either, so who knows. But if we handle Purdue (and SDSU), we'll probably still be favored. 1 Quote Link to comment

Didn't seem like the same player as the year before. Looked slower, and timid to run, when he had a clear 8-9 yards from a defender, and looked to be forcing passes into tight spot's, instead. I know sometimes a player will drop off in his Soph season. Just didn't look like the type of drop off, I would expect. We were missing some good players from the previous year, but it looked like more than that. I still think he the man, to bring the program back, if he is healthy or can stay healthy. jmho GBR!!! He did have a shoulder injury that required surgery after the season. He was going to be a limited participant in spring ball because of it. 3 Quote Link to comment

If hes not ready to play 100% all out (nothing held back every snap every game), by his junior season, then next man up. The future of Husker football begins now. No more exceptions; no excuses. Time to play to win and get reps to the frosh/sophs whenever games are either lost or in decent control. Adrian included imo. Quote Link to comment
