Leaving that message behind & turning towards storming the capital 'nationalism' is a mistake as the Hispanic culture is centered around 'family values'. Until the GOP moderates their policies, I don't see that 40% highwater mark being hit again. Maybe the congressional candidates were more appealing than Trump was in 2020 - thus the increase over 2 years. Or maybe the turn in the economy with inflation had more to do with it than the candidates themselves. Link to comment

Blacks have long been less supportive of LGBT rights than whites. And — fun fact — nobody thinks they're a Nazi. That doesn't mean there isn't encroaching fascism in the country (and around the world). Quite the opposite. The GOP is happy to collect these single issue voters under one banner, where they get them to vote against their self-interest on a wide variety of issues. The Democratic Party has also done a s#!tty job by taking minority support for granted. I won't name names, like Nazi Germany, but some regressive parties united a coalition of minorities by getting them to blame and shame Jews and Socialists. The notion you can point to the Black guy who is positioned behind Trump at rallies to suggest the party isn't racist or fascist is kinda hilarious. 2 3 Link to comment
