News accounts from last week all refer to a "vote" being taken by Big Ten presidents on Aug. 11 ahead of the conference's announcement. Warren, when pressed during an interview on Big Ten Network, said the league was not unanimous in its decision.

So yeah, there's a lot to be unhappy with Warren regarding the messaging of all this (or, as Franklin is alluding to today, the lack of messaging), but Warren is not the person who made the decision to cancel football.

According to several sources now, warren did lead the charge to cancel football wit one source saying he railroaded the decision with no vote.

Kevin Warren can't make Big Ten presidents, who are in charge of multi-billion dollar enterprises, do something they don't want to do.

This is nonsense, it doesn't matter how many "sources" are saying this.

Think about what this is saying.

Maybe they didn't know what they wanted to do so they followed the loudest voice in the room.

I think we can put the "vote" thing to rest as it didn't happen. Minnesota and Penn State's presidents have said as much and that's a direct source. Now whether Warren pushed the decision or not and what sway he had is an open question, but there was definitely not a formal vote.

No, they did not say a vote did not happen. They said they held a deliberative process and a decision was reached. Saying that wasn't a vote is semantics.

Further, you only heard from Minnesota's president, not Penn State's - that was their AD, who said she didn't know if a vote happened.

warren has kept the coaches completely in the dark. That’s why they are doing their own conference calls without him and guys like Brohm are coming up with spring football plans

The plot thickens....

Kevin Warren is actually a Manchurian Commissioner  working for the NFL.  He is trying to destroy  college football as we know it and steer football fans towards the NFL.    Think of it this way:  Roger Goodell = Putin,   Kevin Warren = Trump  :o:madash

I better insert one of these :sarcasm  someone may take it seriously and get offended. :smokin

Seriously, I think the B1G acted hastily and the lack of accountability / disclosure / transparency back to the fans, players, coaches, and parents is appalling.    A winter season starting in early January is not that much later than a delayed fall season.  The B1G could have figured out a 'bubble' schedule instead of jumping off the cliff so soon.

Ok my bad on the Penn State then, but a "deliberative process" does not equal a vote. The loudest voice in the room wins in a deliberative process and it's likely that some schools just went along for the ride as they didn't know which way to go. This should have come down to each school saying yes or no and a formal vote count with each school making their opinion known.

Also, the Minnesota president did say there wasn't a vote.

"We didn't vote, per se. It's a deliberative process where we came to a decision together,"

Voting and arguing to a decision that others go along with is pretty different.

good article   -    I'm also highly disappointed in the leadership at most of the affiliated universities. The Univ presidents/chancellors should have been filling in the leadership void. Outside of Nebraska and maybe a could of others, we hear crickets.  If indeed Warren drove the decision, then it speaks volumes about the lack of a back bone at the highest level of the B1G - basically placing the whole decision on Warren to make - if the decision ends up being the wrong decision, then the presidents can remain blameless.  I wonder if they fire Warren as a result?
