Rumors and news of a B1G football season

The self-flagellents just assume the conferences who play this year are going to pull this off without a hitch and look good to recruits doing it. It's always doom and gloom and gloom and doom for the Big Ten.

Never once considering that if the SEC, ACC & Big twelve have to cancel game after game due to outbreaks, how bad that will look to recruits.

No one in the USA thinks that the games will go off without a hitch. Full expectations of hiccups and cancellations.

High schools seem like they are pulling it off after a successful week 1

even with hiccups I’m thinking recruits look at football being played all around them and even playing themselves and wonder why should they risk playing in a conference that wouldn’t even bother waiting to see where the outbreak played out once students came back. Looking closer and thanks to negative recruiting, being aware the big 10 didn’t even have a detailed plan or protocols in place with 5 months to prepare. That doesn’t bode well for big 10 recruiting

Watched an interview with the OSU Prez.  She is working hard to get fall FB done.  These kids have worked too hard.  We have done the work to keep them safe.  Let's play FB.  What she needed to say was, Those pussies at the school up north just don't want to lose to us again this year!  That would swing at least one vote.  Trust me, that would play well here.

Not sure how thanksgiving is better than mid october. What exactly does the extra 5-6 weeks buy you but much colder weather? And Ohio state losing out on a chance at a natty? And Justin fields missing out on a heisman? And our local economies missing out on revenue—people don’t like going out in the cold? And us missing out on a possible bowl game? And the big 10 being viewed as a jv schedule league, an afterthought?

I’m guessing the negative recruiters from the big 3 will be painting us as the old grumpy slow wanna be Ivy League, but with sometimes football league

Well at least we’re not the pac12, but that’s not saying much. They aren’t making even the slightest effort to play.

A lot of the conversations happening in here are tangential to ones that have been happening in the "Will there be a 2020 football season" so it would be best to keep it all flowing in one place.

There are also quite a few pages of off topic conversations happening here. If you wish to discuss ANY political element of the football season, including something to do with elected officials/policies, please either post about it in the P&R forum or Woodshed. This also goes for debates about treatments and the overall impact of COVID. We don't need to muddy up thread after thread with the same talking points over and over again.
