Wow, I got chills reading that. That takes so much courage to share your personal struggles on the internet like that.

 

Dedrick Mills makes NU look better and that story should make us all the more proud to cheer on Mills and this team. Makes me proud of the whole system.

chills, goosebumps and frankly, a whole lot of awe and respect... that is what every program should strive to do. Make better men/women first and the better athlete will naturally occur. Wow!! Mills thank you for sharing. Hope it inspires other young struggling (heck, even grown and struggling) people.

I've been really rooting for him, hoped he'd play also.  I lost my Dad at 24, but had a bit more time to prepare (cancer). It definitely made me grow up faster but some days are still difficult looking at my kids and wishing they'd been able to meet their Grandfather.

I also lost my father when I was around 24 years old. He died a few days after having a heart attack caused by his Addison’s disease. I also find it difficult at times raising kids, knowing they will never know my father. But, I will bring him up quite often, just to keep his memory with me.

Man.... some powerful stories here! Takes alot of guts to step up and tell your story as an individual. Just exposes you on a different level as a person when you do that . My hat's off to them for having that strength.
