murillo will be visiting sept 29 along w/ townsend & amie

hello, according to a scout article, murillo has been having serious thoughts about possible turning pro - talk about confident:

http://story.scout.com/a.z?s=204&p=2&a...2%2f571640.html

If he thinks he is good enough to go pro then so be it. If he doesn't make it and winds up flipping burgers because he is not good enough to play at that level and has no education because he passed on a free ride then that is what he deserves. Juco ball doesn't prepare some players for D1 ball let alone the NFL.

I hope that he comes here for a year to upgrade his draft status.

Yes, this guy should definitely come. He has chance to make big impact on high profile team. It will help his NFL chances. Otherwise, I think too many NFL teams will be skeptical that he hasn't played at this level. C'mon Armando...let's see what you can do! :bonez

hello, florida, alabama, & oregon st have recently offered, therefore it is starting to get tougher to garner his commentment

p.s. he is from tampa, so the fl offer has to be a little tempting, right?

according to the owh, murillo & his coach said that he (murillo) will probably only take one more visit, & that visit should be to az st sometime next month, & then his coach said this about murillo:

"Armando's better than Zack (Bowman, who John O'Mera coached at NM Military Inst.)," (John) O'Mera (now at E Az CC) said. "Just based on pure playing ability, Armando is way ahead of him (Bowman)" (quote taken from a story written by Mitch Sherman, who is a Staff Writer of the Omaha World-Herald)(10/04/06).

:yeah

He sounds like he is a stud CB. Hopefully he saw enough this past weekend to keep that impression fresh in his mind.

His coach said in the OWH article that he thinks he will commit to NU. So we have to keep our hopes high based on that. We appear to be in the driver's seat for the time-being.

I think he has a visit or two left before he makes his decision. Not sure if he visited ASU yet, I think he is going to visit West Virginia also. He is a december grad.

I am excited about this, but I hope he can play. Bowman was a 5 star and didn't start playing great til the end of the year, and Andre Jones was a 5 star too, and hasn't done anything at all. Not trying to be a downer, but this guy needs to show up and play well.

Hopefully he can mature and learn faster than Bowman and Jones did/have. Our secondary is actually looking like it could be the strength of our defense next year, if our players keep improving.

Solid pickup. Good he'll be here for the spring. The spring game is going to be the best one in a while. Lots of new blood. Lots of talent.

:yeah Last year it was a lot about the run, and this year I think it will be a lot about the pass. With Keller, Leee, and Witt coming in, and Ganz returning, there should be a lot of passes in the game!

I am thrilled to hear about this! I think he will be a good one and will add much needed depth. Our top three corners could be VERY good next year (we may actually run nickel once in a while). Unlike most of you- I don't have anything wrong with Andre Jones. Teams have thrown at Grixby and away from Jones all season. That's why you dont see him making interceptions and breaking up passes.

Jones gets burned a lot, and leaves a lot to be desired in the tackling department, but he's still the best healthy corner we have.

Murillo was on the top of my wish list, and I see our secondary as being pretty good next year, with lots of competition for playing time.If Bowman is back, it will be a huge plus.

He gets on campus for Spring ball and that will put him ahead of Bowman and Jones who scrambled to get up to speed in Fall camp their respective years. Jeremy Crabtree and Sean Callahan said he is a agressive and physical corner.

good we can put grix on punt coverage, and have thenarse, bowman, deandre west, and anthony west, anthony blue, and andre jones battle it out for starting spots next year. There is a GOD!

I dont know if you guys read this but I guess hes better than bowman. Do you think this could make Boman try and go pro if theres going to be competition? This could really be a solid secondary if Bowman stays.

Welcome, Armando! Hear you want to play in the NFL...that's great...just become a the lock-down corner we need and you are good as gold. Will be interested to see you play against USC and Texas next year to name a couple...and hopefully a rematch with OU!

Go Blackshirts! :bonez:bonez:bonez
