Question….if CRT isn’t taught in schools, why is everyone so frothy about banning it?

Because of situations that are happening just like what was described above.  It's not CRT.  But, now administrators and school boards THINK it's being taught so they create the idiotic situation above.

Question.  Is the Dr Seuss book being written about cause so much harm to kids that it should be banned?  Was the discussion the kids started absolutely horrible and should be shut down?

Republicans have created this entire fake crisis in our school systems in an attempt to demonize our public schools.  Great job.

And it distracts from actual factual crises such as the gun epidemic, opioid epidemic, the misogyny rampant in Republican politics, or how they have zero plans to actually govern.

Republicans are a party of manufactured outrage.

"How to Maintain Power 101" includes key lessons about creating an undefined enemy to be afraid of, as fear is the most powerful and easily hijacked emotion we have.

The situation described above as the original tweeter even acknowledges is that the school had a special guest in to talk economics with children based on a book.  The conversation veered away from that so the admin asked for a different book to stay on topic.  It may not have been the best way to handle it, but it certainly isn’t the terrible issue you are trying to make it out to be

Unless there is more to the story that wasn’t shared, the book wasn’t banned.

It’s not a bad topic to discuss, people overcoming adversity.    Just wasn’t the topic to be discussed at the time.  Another option the admin could have taken was to steer the discussion back to basic economics like planned and talk about overcoming economic obstacles

Sounds like you are saying, and I agree, that teachers should be in charge of education and non-teachers should stay the f#&% out!

Glad you came around :)

2023....where right-wingers are all about banning factual discussions regarding historical racism in the US but scream from the top of their lungs about antisemitic, fascist, anti-science, and "stolen election" disinformation from being banned by Twitter.

that little boy who compared the sneetches to blacks being disrespected by the white people missed his $1,000,000 opportunity.   if he had compared it to whites being disrespected by blacks he would have set himself up for life as a hero to the far right

and maybe the sneetches would have become required reading in deep red states
