knapplc
There's a war going on in a major oil-producing part of the world, and people wonder why gas prices are higher. You cannot make this stuff up. 1 1 1 Link to comment
Scarlet
For those whining about gas prices and probably never thought ahead and bought anything other than a gas guzzling dually to drive 30 miles to work, here's a thread that might change where you point the finger...oh wait this will never be read let alone understood. It's easier just to throw a hissy fit. 1 3 Link to comment

Quote With the price of a gallon of crude oil spiking, you’ll be reading and seeing lots of reports about gasoline prices setting records in the United States. That’s true up to a point, but mostly not true. The difference is how you account for inflation. Nominal prices — the number you see on the gas pump when you’re filling up — are hitting what appear to be unprecedented levels. As of Tuesday morning, the American Automobile Assn. pegged the national average at $4.173 a gallon and the California average at $5.444. When accounting for inflation, however, today’s prices are still about 20% below the 2008 peak on the national level and 7% below the California record that year. 1 Link to comment

Overall Inflation is the most hurtful ‘tax’ on low and middle income families there is. A subset of that inflation, increased energy costs, is probably 1B 2 Link to comment

It's easier just to throw a hissy fit. The problem with being a Democrat is that we understand the world is full of challenging and complex problems. To understand those problems takes a nuanced understanding of the prevailing situations behind those problems, to confront them takes a methodological approach that often takes time to bear fruit. The average voter cannot handle this information overload. They have personal lives and issues - like paying bills. A distilled message of "blame Biden" is simple. Democrats need to dumb down their message, call gas prices a hoax by China, and collect those sweet votes. 1 Link to comment
Archy1221
Apparently the commoners can’t understand what’s going on. Only the elite Democrats know what’s happening and know how to understand “nuance”. LOL 1 Link to comment

I agree to an extent but then you hear the mental gymnastics Republicans and Trump supporters do to absolve their side when they are in office and it makes me question this line of thinking.
