Don't forget the opposition party is having an identity crisis consisting of "is Democracy good?" or "should we undermine the constitution to remain in power perpetually?" and if white nationalist talking points should be a feature of their political platform or if it should remain just underneath the surface like it has been for decades. COVID, climate change, and inflation are not the only threats America is facing. The Republican Party has emerged as the most serious threat to the country, and I do not mean that hyperbolicly.

Accomplishing all this while half the country are brainwashed feral MAGA-heads is no small feat.

Democracy has Democrat in its name. We have to make sure to oppose it with all our energy. /s

• Kansas shocks conservative America by going into anonymous polling booths and sending a landslide signal that the "states rights" argument against abortion may not even play in Red States.

This shouldn’t be a shock to anyone who followed this vote for the past month.   It had no chance of passing and it validates what SCOTUS did.  Puts the abortion debate back to the States where it belongs.   States like KS who haven’t elected a D Senator since the ‘50’s I believe still have laws allowing abortion.  Citizens in the state can get an abortion based on how  the citizens of the State voted.  A different version than the leftists “SCOTUS took a constitutional right away”

It doesn't belong with the states, and current events have made that abundantly clear. You have states creating laws and trying to prosecutor people for crossing state lines.

Well every Supreme Court Justice used their confirmation hearing to assure America that the Constitutional basis for Roe was solid and they saw no reason not to let it remain the law of the land. Then at the first opportunity, and behind embarrassingly poor legal reasoning by Justice Alito, they made a 100% political ploy to take away abortion rights by the best tool at their disposal.

Pretty much everybody not named you called the Kansas landslide "unexpected"  I guaran-f#&%ing-tee you that Clarence Thomas was saddened by the result, because it was never about states rights unless those states rights were serving a partisan agenda.

You couldn’t be more wrong.

The vote totals might have been “unexpected”, but the outcome was never in doubt. Maybe those a few thousand miles away and no perspective  of what’s going on locally here thought different.

So, everyone in Kansas knew the state was a majority pro-choice state and does not want the constitution changed to allow state law makers to limit abortion?

Well, it’s a big surprise for anyone not living there then.
