Donald Trump won this county by 16 points in 2016 and by 11 points in 2020. Colorado Springs has not had a non-Republican mayor since 1997.

What I hope dems realize is that this is most likely a vote “against” the GOP and not “for” dems.  At least from my POV and that of my friends.

Don’t ruin a good thing by going crazy yourselves!

Call it what you want.  The end result is going to be more of the same.

No, it won’t.  As soon as dems “go nuts”, myself and most others are out on them too.

Smart folks learn from others’ mistakes.  We’re about to find out how smart democrats are.

I think we're finding out...

We are.  But you also sound pretty confident that this will be a new normal.  I’m very much anti-MAGA.  But I am absolutely not for free college for any degree, minimum wage not set by market, among many other liberal utopian impossibilities.

be careful where you folks go with this.  Just sayin’:dunno

Kind of amusing complaining that the Dem party might want to do the things their base voters want them to do.

Kind of amusing thinking “the base” got things done in 2016.

Im not a proud democrat.  Most of us here aren’t.  I get the popular items, but to blindly believe “gop disgust” equals “dem love” is silly.

my hope is a viable third party pops up before ignorant dems hand the power back to the right-wing psychos.

yeah, some of those ideas are neither utopian or impossible, and by design they would have major long term benefits for the business sector. That's the way America has always worked best and you owe it to yourself not to assume they are simply socialist giveaways. FYI...the current minimum wage is hardly a triumph  of the free market.

Should minimum wage be the same in Fremont, NE as it is in San Francisco, CA?

Are there potentially any other factors there?

Dont be silly.  There is a ton of difference.

ps:  how is an “art history” major going to  positively effect the business market.  Outside of the very few jobs trading masterpieces between millionaires?

Don’t worry.

I’m voting dem, for now…

Me too, I’m with you but if the dems go goofy left to counter the far right instead of filling into the moderate middle space then I’ll be out on them too. The biggest thing they have going for them right now is they are not the GOP. That should be easy to not eff up but….

It's just amusing to me that conservatives show up and think the Dem party should do conservative things. But don't worry, as a progressive to the left of the Dems, I'm confident you've got a better chance of the Dem party doing what you want than I do.
