Thanks President Biden!

I am glad he not screwing things up and accepting the purchase options that Trump and Operation Warp Speed set up last year.  Thanks Trump Admin and OWS in securing those options way back in August and Biden Admin for triggering the option this month.

Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine is priced at $10 a dose. The company has said it does not intend to make any profit. It’s original deal for 100 million doses for the United States struck last August contained a provision allowing the government to buy up to 200 million more doses, options that would be subject to further negotiations and an additional stand-alone agreement, according to the contract.

So on one hand you have the rich cat GOP that wants to end taxes on estates exceeding $11.7million and on the other hand you have populists like Marjorie Green, Sen Hawley,  and the nut job congresswoman from Colo 3rd district Lauren Boebert.  The party makes despicable moves while harboring despicable people in its ranks.

Meanwhile, quiet Joe keeps on doing his business of moving the country forward

from Ben Sasse:

“This weekend’s spending is bigger than the entire annual economy of Canada, yet only one percent of it is vaccine-related. Here’s how midnight spending bills go down: Senators hide a bunch of crap behind titles like ‘The Cuddly Puppies Act,’ and then say anybody voting against it hates puppies. This $1.9 trillion ‘emergency’ bill is overwhelmingly non-emergency — we should’ve just bought Canada too.”

All of the stimulus bills in the Covid Era had things not vaccine-related. Mr. Sasse's sudden discovery of fiscal conservatism in the Biden Era is notable, if not laudable.

Bipartisan opposition:dunno  to the Dem wishlist.

The ugly truth republicans face now is that the "Dem wish list" is actually the "American wish list."

This bill is popular.

Polls find most Americans support Biden's COVID-19 stimulus package

As congressional Democrats put the finishing touches on the American Rescue Plan — a $1.9 trillion economic relief package — new polls reveal most Americans support the raft of policies

Notably, polls find broad Republican support for the provisions of the stimulus package. Polling by Politico/Morning Consult conducted from March 6-8 finds 59% of Republicans at least somewhat support the $1.9 trillion stimulus package. A Tuesday Pew Research poll also found 41% of Republicans supporting the bill.

A CNN poll released Wednesday finds 61% of Americans overall support the relief package and 66% say it would help the economy in some way. The poll, conducted among 1,009 adults from March 3-8, also found majority support for most of the individual policies included in the bill, including larger tax credits for families at 85%; funding for K-12 schools at 77%; and $350 billion in aid to state and local governments at 59%.

The Politico/Morning Consult poll found 75% of registered voters either strongly or somewhat support the package. A majority likes the scope of the package: 45% of those polled say the bill's provisions offer the right amount of support, while 24% believe it offers too little. The poll found just 21% think the bill offers too much.

The Pew poll similarly found 41% of Americans see the size of the package as about right, while 25% say it is too small. That poll also found 70% of adults support the legislation, including 41% of self-identified Republicans. The poll, conducted among 12,055 adults between March 1-7, also found that 57% of the public believes the Biden administration made a good faith effort to work with Republicans.

The data from a range of pollsters depicts an American public approving of direct and historically large government interventions, indicating a possible sea change in the nation's political dynamics.

Hahaha.   Notice how each individual spend in the bill is not polled?  Dems are gonna love it because their guy is in charge.  40% of R’s that like it are the ones getting the checks. That’s how you get to 60% approval.

Take out the direct checks poll that bill and see how it goes.

I’ve always wondered why the death tax is in place anyway?  That money has already been taxed as income.  Why should it be taxed again ( at a hefty rate) just because someone died?
