Trump's Post Election Fallout: Legal & Obstruction actions

Recommended Posts

btw....when you do this much signaling about "Third World!" and "banana republic!' you're projecting your own ways and motives. I believe the far right -- by which I mean everyone to the right of Ben Sasse --- is willing to threaten another violent insurrection if anyone moves to imprison or even try Donald Trump, and DTs messages to his masses have already dropped most of their coding. This is Mobutu Sese Seko stuff.

I just watched this video and the idea behind it was that if the raid on his place doesn't turn up anything "important" it is like the DOJ just handed him the White House in 24.  I did not really think of it like that but it was interesting.

I can see that. Although as Moiraine pointed out, anything juicy they do find would simply have been planted by an out-of-control federal agency looking to destroy Trump. His base can have it both ways. But I do think yet another failure to prosecute could push a few fence sitters back into the Witch Hunt camp.

The idea that a less damning trove of documents somehow absolves Trump of his blatant treason is what bugs me.

I am just trying to think of people that are on the fence.  I suppose it could push them to the Trump side but it just seems odd, seems like it was an odd thought when I saw it.  But hey, who knows!

Things are pretty weird!

Imagine believing habitual liars like Rand Paul, Mike McCarthy, Donald Trump, et al when what they are saying can easily be disproven.  Trump could clear the air himself if he'd let us all see the warrant and the the inventory of what was seized.

I do see MAGAts have their marching orders.  Deny, deflect, blame the "Deep State" and gaslight granny.

I would love to know how many people like Paul fall into each of these camps:

a) Think the US is invincible and it's okay to say things like this and our government will hold up just fine when they keep telling the public that the whole system is rigged. They do what they do for the votes/whatever office they hold, but don't think anything truly bad will come of it.
b) Are okay with autocracy, even if Trump is the autocrat, and think they will gain from it/get some of the power

c) Are actually stupid enough to believe the bulls#!t - we're at a point in time now where many of the GOP leaders were raised on Fox News, so it's possible some of them believe what they're saying.

They absolutely have the right to collect classified docs improperly  removed from a classified setting, but I read somewhere the feds have known about the possible doc removal for many months. Anyone know why they waited? I would acted immediately to protect classified info.

I think at this point we need to know what they found.

I haven’t talked with any Trumpsters yet, but I suspect they are amping up. This could get ugly.
