If we were fair-weather fans, would we be posting on this message board at midnight in the midst of what almost certainly promises to be a fourth straight losing season?

If Frost was hesitant to come here because he would get heat for going 10-19 (7-16) then there is a ton of D3 teams that would be happy to have him.

It's been a rough start, but if you can prove to us you can adapt this can still go the way you want.  Here are some things that seem fairly obvious to those watching, but may not seem so obvious to y

Well bud, we all knew what a huge rebuild project this was when Frost was hired. What's more he's had the worse string of luck any coach has had with cancelled games, pandemics etc.

Additionally our team is completely devoid of senior leadership. Last year our line was bunk and our only real option at qb played the whole season injured. We all knew this would take time. Is the record worse than I expected? Yep. Should Frost's seat be hot at all, nope.

Do Nebraska fans need to quit offering coaches ultimatums yup. Solich says hi. Pelini was right, Fairweather.

Wow, you took this to level 10 on the ole, "let's exacerbate problems to make things look not as bad" meter

Nobody knew we had a huge rebuild project when Frost was hired, and the expectations were reasonable: Frost was expected to  immediately do better than Mike Riley with what he was handed (that's why you hired him) then steadily improve as he brought in his players, system and culture.

Nebraska fans weathered the worst start in Nebraska football history (0-6) in 2018 and were hugely optimistic about how the team finished that year. Nebraska fans were not alone in their expectations: the college football world and the pollsters put Scott Frost's 2019 team in their Top 25 and Sleeper lists. Our young, inexperience QB was on most Heisman lists.

Scott Frost has not had the worst luck. Everyone has bad luck. Everyone is dealing with adversity. Do you think he'd be luckier if he got to play Wisconsin this year?

Bad trends and patterns have emerged in this third season. The players under-performing, not buying in and transferring out are largely Scott Frost recruits. This is legitimately troubling,

So let's get it straight. Fan expectations last year were for a sign of improvement, six wins and a low-tier bowl berth. This year we simply wanted to see some bad trends get addressed, maybe play .500 ball in this weird season.

Husker fans are famous for their loyalty and friendliness to opposing fans, but they are also pretty good students of football, and generally smart enough to know that coaches dictate a lot of the problems we're seeing on the field.

Do you know what fanbase would be this critical of a team playing this poorly? Every fanbase.

Frank Solich says hi from Ohio University and a .571 lifetime percentage in a mid-major conference. Bo Pelini says hi from LSU, where he is no longer a head coach but is getting utterly roasted by a fanbase with even higher expectations.

"Since Scott Frost's arrival at Nebraska... Only 6 P5 schools have fewer wins than Neb: UCLA, Oregon St, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Kansas, Rutgers"

When your peers are Oregon St, Vandy, Kansas and Rutgers - there is gonna be some grumbling. I agree with your expectations. I think people would be pretty damn happy if we went 7-6 and won the pinstripe bowl last year and were 3-2 this year. Those aren't massive expectations.

What if our center can’t snap good because the other team was clapping? Haha. Ok so their clapping might make him snap early but does it make him also snap over the qb head, down at his ankles and off to the left and right?

It might if he was not expected to have to snap it yet and tried to rush it.

Did you not watch the game yesterday?  I know you did because you were in full meltdown in the game thread from start to finish.

We were competitive.  We had the ball at the end to win the game. Had it not been for the muffed punt by CTB we may have won.

We're not where we want to be but we're also not where we were during the last stages of the Riley years when we were getting absolutely dominated.  I know nobody wants to hear that because then their crying is all for not.

If by competitive you mean comical then you are right..come on, face the facts...how many drives were killed because of self inflicted penalties? How did our unspecial teams manage to get Iowa a 17 yard advantage over us? How many bad snaps we had to overcome or not? Your assessment of competitiveness is based on how close the score was...Frankly, that speaks more about Iowa’s inability to capitalize on the plethora of opportunities we gave them. Any other team would have turned those to TD. So, if you think that was a competitive performance then you do not understand football.

Also, you seem to really have extreme issues identifying the definition of words...If commenting on the flow of the game is full meltdown then I feel sorry for your fragile little ego...

So you're saying you didn't watch the game.

As far as what my ego has to do with your constant hissy fits

Can you clarify what you mean by handled poorly?

The only thing I can think of is Martinez was given the starting spot, then Gebbia pouted and left.....but most likely not until he talked to Mr. Rogers, the .500Whisperer.
