huskerfan74
First, congrats on a must needed win. This is what I learned from watching this game: (1) No lead is safe with this team...they always find a way to make it interesting by allowing opponents to come back. (2) This is the first time this year our special teams played well and surprise, surprise, we won! (3) We are a horrible 3rd down team and we are at the bottom of the rankings in this category. (4) Martinez played with confidence for the first time and he was able to go through his progressions. (5) We continue to commit way too many penalties. Lucky for us Purdue played like us and committed even more penalties that bailed us out. (6) Cam Taylor-Britt, Honas, Stille, Reimer, Domann, are the backbone of this defense. They kept us in many games this year. (7) Diante Williams is a hot head and he commits stupid penalties that bail teams out. He plays well but commits several penalties that hurt the team. (8) Our red zone offense was effective today. How come? Who was actually calling the plays? Keep doing that. (9) This team needs to establish a culture of winning so they can hold on to leads and play better in the second half. We scored 27 points in first half and 10 points in second. That is not enough t keep winning games. (10) A bowl game will do wonders for this team even if it is the toilet bowl. I don’t care as long as they get more practice. (11) Can they maintain this momentum and win out? I hope so. 3 1 Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
Special teams play was really bad. Blocked a punt. But after that big return. Another return with 30 yards of penalties. Our punt blocked. We have a RB named Cooper Jewett CTB is a dude pass rush is getting better AM is getting better. we are close to being a pretty solid team. But we just can’t seem to find ways to finish teams. AM first QB slide is at the worst moment ever. Huskera win. Cheers!!! 1 Quote Link to comment
Undone
I learned that Connor Culp can kick the ball into the end zone on kickoffs...why were we having him pooch kick it all year?! Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
@Undonedid you see NU’s kickoff coverage team? The Purdue returner averaged 29 yards per return. That’s why Culp has been pooch kicking. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Undone
@ColoradoHusk - It was more sarcasm than anything else. I didn't even know he had that much leg. 1 Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
NU has played better in the last 2 weeks, compared to the rest of the season. Coming into the season, I thought NU could get on a roll at the end of the season. Yes, NU lost to Iowa, but NU played a pretty good game against them. Then NU continued the better play against Purdue. That’s progress. 3 Quote Link to comment
Cy the Cyclone
What I learned today... Travis Justice is as bad a commentator on TV as he is on radio Breece Hall is Roger Craig's cousin. 2 Quote Link to comment
Bigred_inSD
Playing well makes people happier on the board. Injured players can bring their cell phones to the bench and make calls during the game. Having someone who can kick field goals does well for my hairline (but it is already a lost cause) 3 Quote Link to comment

huskerfan74
By the way, what is the deal with Big Ten networks Dave Revsine? Why does he hate on us so much? Did Nebraska rub him the wrong way? Quote Link to comment
huskerfan74
@swmohusker you have to at least agree that they played much better than in any other game this year. They blocked a punt, scored field goals, and did not commit too many penalties. I call that improvement. Quote Link to comment
UniversalMartin
I learned that I have hit the bottom floor on my personal excitement to watch a Husker game Quote Link to comment
