I just watched a news segment on some companies here in the US that have not only adopted the 4 day work week but have reported shockingly enough higher employee happiness/work life balance as a result along with increased productivity.

It's a pretty common discussion in a lot of larger corporations. We've done meetless Fridays and summer hours for awhile now; where you don't schedule meeting after 12pm on Fridays and if you have the ability you can "punch out" early. Doesn't always get followed as there are hot issues, but it's nice when you can start to wind down for the weekend.
