Another hit from one of the rising stars telling you not to believe your lying eyes.

Gosar isn't even well liked in AZ...

And, he's not entirely wrong regarding about 90% of the crowd outside the Capitol that day.

50,000 vs 500.

I'm not sure about your numbers but whatever.  How many of those 50,000 are "being harassed by the DOJ" and what does that "harassment" consist of?

I don't know about my numbers either...and obviously don't do percentages well. DOJ isn't harassing the 50k that I know of, but lots of pundits treat it like they are...and everyone who attended that rally is an insurrectionist. Just saying Gosar may be laughable regarding some topics, but not that one.

Granted, I don't watch much cable news shows.  But I'd be curious who these "lots of pundits" are.

When I see footage of the "insurrection", I never see footage from the larger peaceful protest.  It's always footage from the steps of the Capitol or the inside of the building.  100% of the people in that footage are insurrectionists and should lose citizenship at best and face prison at worst.

Too lazy to go back and look, but I'm sure you gave this very same rationale in regard to the peaceful BLM protesters last summer right?

Agree, not sure where this idea is coming from that people are ever talking about the rally itself and calling that whole group insurrectionists. If it's just @DevoHusker, how did you get that impression? If it's politicians, they are trying to distract.

This is today's GOP - kick out people from leadership who think independently like Cheney while not disciplining a radical like Congresswoman MTG who just harassed AOC in the halls of congress:

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene aggressively confronted Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Wednesday and falsely accused her of supporting “terrorists,” leading the New York congresswoman’s office to call on leadership to ensure that Congress remains “a safe, civil place for all Members and staff.”

Washington Post reporters witnessed Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) exit the House chamber late Wednesday afternoon ahead of Greene (Ga.), who shouted “Hey Alexandria” twice in an effort to get her attention. When Ocasio-Cortez did not stop walking, Greene picked up her pace and began shouting at her and asking why she supports antifa, a loosely knit group of far-left activists, and Black Lives Matter, falsely labeling them “terrorist” groups. Greene also shouted that Ocasio-Cortez was failing to defend her “radical socialist” beliefs by declining to publicly debate the freshman from Georgia.

“You don’t care about the American people,” Greene shouted. “Why do you support terrorists and antifa?”

Ocasio-Cortez did not stop to answer Greene, only turning around once and throwing her hands in the air in an exasperated motion. The two reporters were not close enough to hear what the New York congresswoman said, and her office declined to discuss her specific response.

“Representative Greene tried to begin an argument with Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez and when Rep. Ocasio-Cortez tried to walk away, Congresswoman Greene began screaming and called Rep. Ocasio-Cortez a terrorist sympathizer,” Ocasio-Cortez spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said in a statement. “We hope leadership and the Sergeant at Arms will take real steps to make Congress a safe, civil place for all Members and staff — especially as many offices are discussing reopening. One Member has already been forced to relocate her office due to Congresswoman Greene’s attacks.”

Before walking away, Greene said that the encounter was intended to hold Democrats accountable for their policy proposals.

“She’s a chicken, she doesn’t want to debate the Green New Deal,” she said to a small group of reporters and onlookers near the entrance to the chamber. “These members are cowards. They need to defend their legislation to the people. That’s pathetic.”

No absolute quotes, just overall bent.

I was responding about Liz.

I support Republicans continuing to push many of the the policies Trump admin ram and governed on.  I don’t support any cult of personality, I don’t support Trump constantly talking about 2020, if that’s all he wants to talk about then he is useless going forward.   If he wants to talk about furthering the platform/agenda then fine.  It would be best if he just did the Bush things and quietly just loved his life.

He ain’t gonna be the nominee in 2024.

Why do you care so much about Republican leadership positions?

But the whole discussion we've been having, and the whole point of this thread, is that the GOP finds itself caught in a loyalty oath to Trump.

When the job demanded advancing an actual platform, Trump generally followed the GOP playbook. But as a candidate, President, and now ex-President, the agenda was almost always about Donald Trump himself, and he spent an inordinate amount of time talking about his enemies. In one of the few speeches he made recently, he railed at a hand-picked group of guests at Mar-a-Lago about the Republicans who didn't back him loudly enough, and how they need to be replaced. The understanding is that future candidates and primary strategies will be running through Mar-a-Lago.

You keep discussing Marjorie Taylor Greene, Laurene Bobert and Matt Gaetz as minor figures that shouldn't concern us, but like current and aspiring Republicans they have secured their political fortunes by aligning as Trump loyalists, despite their glaring ineptitude. Matt Gaetz should have been ousted from the party, and quite possibly in jail, but instead the ex-President hosts him at Mar-a-Lago events. You start to care about Republican leadership positions when the Republicans dump their #3 leader and openly declare that loyalty to Trump is the issue. That tends to influence your down party tickets in every state.

In case you're really not following this, Trump is going to talk constantly about 2020, he has no further platform or agenda, and it is a cult of personality. It's really not a stretch to say the camps have split around a single issue: was Donald Trump cheated out of the election? Even Republicans who don't believe that are afraid to say so in public. That's pretty creepy.

What you just stated above is exactly what Liz Cheney was saying. But you also chose to talk s#!t about Liz Cheney, as if she's yet another of your non-factors. By your own definition, Donald Trump is useless going forward.

Pick a lane.
