A smarter, less erratic candidate who shares Trump's political priorities is even more terrifying.

Xenophobia, border walls, gutting regulation, undermining public education, f#&%ing the underclass, knee-capping social services, dog-whistling the white supremacists, dismantling democracy, and generally seeking revenge on your political adversaries without having any answers of your own.......yeah.  Donald Trump didn't invent those political priorities.

So he wants the whole "Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya" shtick without any of the blowback? Got it!

Yeah, outside of the border wall, you just posted a bunch of gibberish that probably makes the far left giddy when saying it, but reality tells a different story.  It’s kinda why the far left is in for a fall Nov 2022.

Ummmm, FL not sending National Guard troops to DC, (why do they need to do this for the SOTU anyways), is not the same as FEMA not sending aid during a natural disaster.    Guess I’m not surprised Aaron is too stupid to realize this.

1. Is systems and processes that are in place in a department of the government that have clear guidelines in place that decide if FEMA money is warranted. And does not directly involve Biden.

2. The other is a petty grandstanding moron trying to position himself for a higher national office by attempting to score point against the sitting President by denying a request that is generally a mere formality and has rarely, if ever, been done in the past.

You are right- big difference.

The very same one. Google Patrick Witt for Congress if you want a good laugh (or cry).

Okay this just got more interesting. His website is down for maintenance, and his twitter and instagram show up in search results but no longer exist.

National guard has been called in as the fences go back up and they plan around potential activities that would endanger every politician in the building .... which is EVERY one of import in the USA, including the Supreme Court members.  That's why the national guard has been called up.

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2022/02/28/national-guard-on-standby-for-state-of-the-union-address/

That's why they're needed at the SOTU.  If the US was not so divided with half the country thinking the current leadership in power never won the election and should not retain power perhaps we wouldnt need it.  But they are organized groups, with an irrational obsession with guns and fire power and "righting the wrong" -

This is what I said in response.

This is what you said in your quote.

I'm guessing you misquoted something. Care to try again?

No. I'm good. Not clear what you think I have wrong.

It's a pretty interesting conversation about conservatives who carefully avoid endorsing extremism, but seem destined to vote for it.

The division between P&R and the rest of HuskerBoard is kinda interesting, too.

Join me.

Why does DC need the FL national guard again?

Would t guardsmen from neighboring states make more sense from a pure logistics standpoint?

for ceremonial purposes....having all 50 states represented would make sense.  but if florida doesn't want to be there....f#&% em.

Apparently, like the Jan. 6th attackers, you only back the blue when it suits you.

D.C. AND CAPITOL POLICE MADE THE REQUEST While DeSantis framed the request as coming from the Biden administration, it actually originated with the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and U.S. Capitol Police, the two law enforcement agencies that responded to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot last year and bore the brunt of the physical injuries.

The two agencies asked Biden’s administration to approve Guard support ahead of the speech. The failure to mobilize the Guard ahead of the Electoral College count and President Donald Trump’s resistance to sending it after the riot began were closely scrutinized as lawmakers probed security failures in the wake of the attack last year. Defense Secretary LLoyd Austin approved a request from the two agencies last week to deploy 700 members of the National Guard ahead of Biden’s address and a trucker convoy that was inspired by the anti-vaccine protest that occupied Canada’s capital city of Ottawa last month. The mission is approved through March 7, under Austin’s order. In addition to 400 members of the D.C. National Guard deployed under the order, there will be 300 that come from New Jersey, Vermont and West Virginia. There won’t be any Floridians, but their absence won’t affect the number of guardsmen deployed.
