What is the future of the Republican Party?

Recommended Posts

Pretty sure maintaining slavery was a part of the revolution, just not the largest part. Slavery was illegal in Britain at the time of the revolution, though not in the colonies of the UK. The British also promised to free slaves who fought or aided them. To top things off TJ's passage about the evils of slavery was stricken from the final draft of the Declaration of Independence.

There's also no arguing that slavery became more entrenched after the revolution, despite TJ banning importation of slaves in Virginia and eventually the US. It was nearly 100 years from the revolution to emancipation.

It's like having a giant cancerous goiter hanging off your face but you're too afraid to lance it.  Instead you support it, then vote for it.

The racism at the end really put this over the top.

It's a real race to the bottom between DeSantis and Trump on who will capture the hearts and minds of these Republican voters.
