Yeah. What's even crazier is it's been that way for the last four year. Slightly better this year so maybe things are changing. deGrom's starts this year. Some reporter dug up this super old tweet about deGrom in the minors - converting from SS to Pitcher can work! He did start his junior year of college though, while also playing SS. No one is going to be like deGrom, but apparently the scouts sometimes know what they're doing when they project guys - I imagine one of the factors in deGrom starting to pitch in college was input from scouts about his future.
