A hard hitting OPED by a GOPer who worked in previous GOP administrations.   Trump is losing his mind - and it shouldn't surprise any of us.

What boggles my mind is that some Trumpers will admit the actions now are inappropriate and Biden won.  BUT....they refuse to acknowledge that any of his actions for the past 4 years fall into that category.

I personally would think these people would start thinking...."Hmmmm.....maybe this experiment wasn't the greatest thing in the world".  Or, maybe they are starting to think that but don't want to admit it.

To admit is to admit complicity and being an enabler.  They'd prefer that their past support remain behind the curtain.

For all of Trump's fault, a legitimate attempt to seize control of the U.S. government would likely result in not only his imprisonment but the complete downfall of his family's empire. Even he is not stupid enough to try something like that.

And what have we been hearing for years now from inside sources? Trump knows exactly what he's doing with this kind of stuff. He's not a moron. He may be mentally unstable and ill, but he's not a moron. He's been telling those close to him for several weeks that he knew he had lost the election, but he continued to keep up this facade in the public eye and legal system.

Trump is a wounded dog - who knows what he might do next.

President Trump, in his final days, is turning bitterly on virtually every person around him, griping about anyone who refuses to indulge conspiracy theories or hopeless bids to overturn the election, several top officials tell Axios.

The latest: Targets of his outrage include Vice President Pence, chief of staff Mark Meadows, White House counsel Pat Cipollone, Secretary of State Pompeo and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Why it matters: Trump thinks everyone around him is weak, stupid or disloyal — and increasingly seeks comfort only in people who egg him on to overturn the election results. We cannot stress enough how unnerved Trump officials are by the conversations unfolding inside the White House.

Top officials are trying to stay away from the West Wing right now.

  • Trump is lashing out, and everyone is in the blast zone: At this point, if you're not in the “use the Department of Homeland Security or the military to impound voting machines” camp, the president considers you weak and beneath contempt.
  • Trump is fed up with Cipollone, his counsel. Some supporters of Cipollone are worried that Trump is on the brink of removing him and replacing him with a fringe loyalist.

A source who spoke to Trump said the president was complaining about Pence and brought up a Lincoln Project ad that claims that Pence is "backing away" from Trump. This ad has clearly got inside Trump’s head, the source said.

  • Trump views Pence as not fighting hard enough for him — the same complaint he uses against virtually everybody who works for him and has been loyal to him.

Pence’s role on Jan. 6 has begun to loom large in Trump’s mind, according to people who’ve discussed the matter with him.

  • Trump would view Pence performing his constitutional duty — and validating the election result — as the ultimate betrayal.

A new fixation: Trump has even been asking advisers whether they can get state legislatures to rescind their electoral votes. When he’s told no, he lashes out even more, said a source who discussed the matter with the president.

  • And in an Oval meeting Monday night, Trump spoke with House Republicans about voting to overturn the result on Jan. 6 — a desperate vote that even Trump has privately acknowledged he's bound to lose.

The person who has the worst job in Washington, according to multiple administration officials: the incoming head of the Justice Department, Jeffrey Rosen.

  • The consensus is he has no earthly idea the insanity he is in for.
  • The next month will be the longest of his life.

Another reflection of Trump’s state of mind:

  • As Axios reported Monday night, the president got his personal assistant to email Republican lawmakers a PowerPoint slide (above) attacking McConnell for being "the first one off the ship," and absurdly claiming credit for the Senate majority leader’s victory in his Kentucky re-election.
  • That's quite a message to send two weeks out from crucial runoff races in Georgia, where Republicans need to stay unified.

Where's Jared? A source told Axios that Kushner, who yesterday participated in a tree-planting ceremony in Jerusalem Forest's Grove of Nations, "is focused on the Middle East."

  • It's a perfect visual encapsulation of Kushner's absence — on the other side of the world, planting a tree with Bibi and accepting plaudits, while Trump discusses mayhem with Sidney Powell.

Even Pat Robertson says Trump is living in an altered reality and he needs to move on.

Pat Robertson thinks that President Donald Trump is being “erratic” and needs to move on from his “alternate reality” about the election.

Yes, that Pat Robertson. Even Pat Robertson thinks this is going too far.

Back in October, Roberton said God told him Trump would win. He encouraged people to get out and vote before adding, “It’s going to lead to civil unrest, and then a war against Israel and so forth.”

Even after the election was called for Joe Biden, Robertson still publicly said “it isn’t over yet.”

But on Monday, in a segment first flagged by Right Wing Watch, after The 700 Club aired a report about Trump considering a 2024 run, Robertson actually said, “With all his talent and the ability to raise money and grow large crowds, the president still lives in an alternate reality. He really does. People say, ‘Well, he lies about this, that, and the other.’ No, he isn’t lying. To him, that’s the truth.”

Robertson added Trump shouldn’t run in 2024, saying such a move would be a “mistake” and a “sideshow.”

Robertson commended Trump on the economy, but made a point of highlighting false claims Trump made over the years and said, “He is very erratic and he’s fired people and he’s fought people and he’s insulted people… It’s a mixed bag.”

Earlier on in the program, Robertson acknowledged Biden’s victory, and he later went on add it’s time to say to Trump “you’ve had your day and it’s time to move on.”

Robertson went on to say he’s alarmed by socialism in the United States, before adding, “We don’t need a sideshow for 2024.”

Now Rudy, once America's mayor, is under tighter investigation by SDNY in relationship to Ukraine.  Soon he may be subjected to lawsuits by Smartmatic and Dominion.

It does no good to be associated with a crime boss like Trump.

WASHINGTON — Federal prosecutors have discussed making a legal request for Rudy Giuliani's electronic communications, two sources familiar with the probe tell NBC News, a sign that the investigation into President Donald Trump's personal attorney remains active and may soon be ramping up.

Prosecutors for the Southern District of New York have been in communication with Justice Department officials in Washington about gaining access to Giuliani's emails, the two sources said. The Southern District needs Washington's approval before its prosecutors can ask a judge to sign a search warrant for materials that may be protected by attorney-client privilege, according to department policy. It is not known whether Washington has been granted that approval.

The scope of the current investigation is unclear, but in October 2019, The Wall Street Journal reported that prosecutors from the Southern District were reviewing Giuliani's bank records as part of an investigation into his dealings in Ukraine. Two of his former associates, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, were arrested that month on charges of campaign finance fraud and have since been charged with additional crimes related to wire fraud conspiracy. Parnas and Fruman have pleaded not guilty.

He's already disgraced himself with his conduct post-election loss, but I am 100% here for cameras rolling while he's physically dragged from the White House.

That would be the most fitting end to his residency there.

Even though I think it would be bad for America.  There is a part of me that hopes this is how he leaves.  Kicking and screaming with the Secret Service dragging him out.....with cameras rolling filming the whole thing.

It would be a perfect ending to this disaster of an administration.
