The Scarlet Pimpernel
I currently coach at a HS with one of the top WRs for the c/o 2022, a 4* rated in the top 10 WRs in the country. He knows what a huge Nebraska fan I am and I've often spoken with him about the program, and I know for a fact that he had some legit interest. Before the season, and during the season, I reached out to various members of the Nebraska coaching staff, sent them film, etc. As the season progressed, the kid asked me a few times, "When am I gonna hear from Nebraska, coach?" Yet not one time did anyone from Nebraska reach out to me, nor him. I see now that he's released his Top 10, and of course Nebraska isn't included, because they never made an offer. It's obviously very disappointing, because we all know our situation with WRs, and here you have a golden opportunity to at least offer the kid and try to land him, and you don't do it. I just don't get it. 1 Quote Link to comment
Crusader Husker
There have been too many disappointments with this staff. This is just another one. Thanks for your work. Too bad it will go by the wayside. 1 Quote Link to comment

Bigred_inSD
Well who is in his top 10 and how much will he torch the defense when he plays for OSU Quote Link to comment
JJ Husker
Are we to believe this is some sort of example of how this staff has screwed the pooch?...because they didn’t contact/offer your guy? Are they supposed to chase every top ten position player in the country? Has Nebraska landed a lot of top ten WR’s, ever? How many of the best receivers are going to commit to our QB situation? According to this rationale, we should offer every top ten guy in the country yet we would be lucky to land even one of them. What’s the solution, fill in all the misses with Walk-ons? This is silly. dubsker
People who title threads without subject matter and with ellipses should be forced to watch 24 hours of Cosgrove defense per dot. 6 Quote Link to comment

That's not what I'm saying at all. All I'm saying is that when you have a top 10 recruit, who has interest, at a position you're struggling in, and one of his coaches is a huge Nebraska fan, and said coach reaches out to you.... shouldn't you at least make an effort to check on it? dubsker
Insufferable thread titling practices aside, I imagine that would be a very frustrating situation OP. 1 Quote Link to comment

I appreciate where you're at on this but I also assume the coaches have to make a ton of decisions like this and evaluate what their chances are before even making first contact. I mean maybe they're dropping the ball or maybe there was one or quite a few other factors. And yeah, our wide receiver room seems to be pretty anemic based on game output but we really don't know what they're thinking or specifically looking for at any given time. All I'm saying is the stars may not have aligned on this one and it's really nobody's fault....maybe. 2 Quote Link to comment
NoLongerN
We offer over 400 kids. I'm sure we will offer 500 kids very soon ... but not this guy. I'm sure we will offer a Top 30 WR as well. It's humorous to me. Most businesses and programs are built off of connections. Sad. Where is "the radius" view on this as well? Quote Link to comment
