Guy Chamberlin
That still leaves over 150 Republicans in House and Senate who voted to validate Trump's fraudulent claims. They are exactly as complicit as the mob that ignored the rule of law in order to placate an insane President. 5 Link to comment

Moiraine
Trump will not be convicted before he leaves office. Apparently there's some rule that would require 100 Senators to agree to meet in time to do it before the 20th. They still need to do this and with Schumer in charge there's a better chance they'll at least have a vote. They need to make sure he can't run for the office again. TGHusker
The GOP needs to be thrown to the side of the street like trash. So many in the House still blocking efforts to call on Pence to evoke Amendment 25 measures. https://apnews.com/article/pelosi-house-impeach-trump-575a4070cbef5441d61fb7e4a497f9b7 Quote A House resolution calling on Vice President Mike Pence to invoke constitutional authority to remove President Donald Trump from office was blocked Monday by Republicans. Democrats in the House are pushing Pence and the Cabinet to oust Trump, saying he is unfit for office after encouraging a protest march that turned into a mob that ransacked the U.S. Capitol in a deadly siege. Republicans refused to allow a vote on the Pence measure Monday, although a vote still could occur as early as Tuesday. Pence has given no indication he is ready to proceed on such a course, which would involve invoking the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, including a vote by a majority of the Cabinet to oust Trump before he leaves office on Jan. 20. Democratic President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn in on that date. Link to comment

Ulty
Democrats are not showing any sense of urgency and will kick the can down the road until inauguration. I'm not convinced that anything is going to happen to Trump or that any of members of the executive or legislative branches that incited the riots will be held accountable at all. House Democrats plan to vote Wednesday to impeach Trump There was an armed insurrection on Wednesday, and it was known at that time that Trump's continued reign was a threat to national security. He is a clear and present danger. This is an emergency for our country. And it is going to happen again. There was immediate talk of the 25th Amendment and/or another impeachment. By Thursday, cabinet members started resigning and Pence did not respond to calls to invoke the 25th. On Friday, Pence said he was not going to invoke the 25th, and the Dems drafted a resolution for impeachment... Since then? On Friday afternoon they decided it could wait until Monday. Sunday night I saw a report that Pelosi was going to give Pence 24 hours to invoke the 25th (even though he already said privately he wouldn't), and if not, a vote would take place Tuesday. Today, the Dems are "planning" to vote on Wednesday. Nothing's gonna happen is it? By Wednesday, the can will be kicked down the road for one reason or another. Are any of these public servants going to take their oath seriously? 3 Link to comment
