I love how the link criminal agitator Cruz provides says that he's lying. What a dope!

Pipelines don't create 11,000 jobs, or even 5,000 jobs. Those numbers are bunk and have been debunked for years, back during the live discussions they had here in Lincoln when they were first trying to steal Nebraska farmers' land with this boondoggle.

The construction phase (in this case 2 years) certainly does create that many. But, as pointed out elsewhere, they are "temporary" jobs, and once operational the pipeline would only keep a fraction of those numbers employed.

From that link:

Building the pipeline would contribute around $3.4 billion to US gross domestic product, and would generate about 50 jobs when operational, the State Department report said.

Exactly. And during the live debates in Lincoln opponents of the pipeline debunked those thousands of jobs as well. The estimates from the pipeline company took into account workers needed at tertiary suppliers for materiel - except that those workers were already hired, already on the payroll doing other work. They weren't hiring new people for new jobs.

It's all been a boondoggle from the beginning. It will create very few sustained jobs, and it will profit Canada, pollute America and take away land from our farmers.

Huge nope.

Here's a photo of early work on the Keystone XL pipeline. Note the 'thousands' of workers.

My wife's uncle was on crews that built two of the existing pipelines. This was what he described as a typical crew. There aren't 'thousands' of people on these projects. More like a few hundred at a time. It's not like they're digging trenches by hand, or laying pipe by hand.
