2023 PF Omaha Biliew [Iowa State Commit]

That’s a big assumption.  Nebraska mens BB is a historic low level program.  Never won a thing in terms of relevant championships or even a single game in the big dance.  Nothing new about 2021 season really.  Joining the big ten made things even tougher than the old conferences. Big 12 has become a top league but even Kansas keeps dominating that one.

Not defending Fred but basically it’s nearly impossible to realistically expect a sudden transformation of something out of nothing.  Short of having the next superstar ala Wilt Chamberlin or Magic J or Lebron come for an absolutely bizarre reason, it will be a long term (maybe forever) deal to build a real contender. Fred has landed some very highly rated guys but only because of his reputation and he is NOT an elite status coach. If he was, he’d be somewhere better.  We are lucky to get him - his old family history and area ties mostly.

We paid him big bucks as that was his apparent market value.  Let’s give him time. He may find some diamonds in the rough and start the long climb. He’s as good as NU can hope for imo.

What?

Fred has a winning percentage of .264.  The previous coach had 7 years at .504 with the last two seasons winning 22 and 19 games respectively.

If Fred had won 20+ games this year, there's a good chance this kid is still at least somewhat interested.
