I assume that was a typo because he *is* eligible because he's been here for a year.  You are correct that before now he would have counted against the 25 limit.

He was originally on shaky ground to qualify, right? Must be doing OK now.

 

Glad we've got him. I don't know if I see him as a starter in the near future, but he definitely looked like he belonged on the field in the spring game, no complaints. And I have a feeling we're in for a wild year for RB depth, so he could still end up getting plenty of play time.

LJS: "The NCAA a few years ago changed its rules regarding walk-ons, allowing a non-scholarship player to be placed on scholarship after one year at a school without counting against the school's 25-man annual new scholarship limit. Previously, a player had to be a walk-on for two years."
