Atbone95
Like this take... but I will never understand how our approach to specialists. This guy + the two Furman kickers - Culp brings us to 8 kickers on the roster. The #3 kicker in the country in 2023 (Kohl's rankings) goes to Millard South and tweets at Nebraska staff often, basically begging for an opportunity. At some point, there aren't enough reps to go around. The staff has shown they have enough of a hard time making a decision on the right specialist, much less if they have 10 options to choose from. 2 Quote Link to comment

Could be they’re trying to make it harder for fans and opponents to scout us. Lol. And this was we only need a couple more so we can rotate them like we do our WR and RB and TEs. Don’t want to show any tendencies. ? Or, maybe there is now special teams coach who has a clue about judging kickers so we use the shotgun approach. ? Quote Link to comment

I don’t think there will be that many when the season starts. And, when they were so bad last year, we needed all new kickers. I don’t believe most of these are taking up a scholarship. But it is the shotgun approach to finding a kicker instead of quality over quantity. Quote Link to comment

If a kicker with college experience and a decent stat line wants to come walk-on and try to make the team, why say no? 1 Quote Link to comment

Are you talking about the Furman #2 kicker, who was the backup to the guy we just put on scholarship? haha Because he takes reps from Charlie and crowds up the room when he already lost the battle to #1 at his FCS school. Actually, I'm talking about the punter that has started there 2 years in a row and hasn't lost his starting job. And...has a pretty good stat line. Quote Link to comment

MinnwiscowaSker
He's 2023 so hasn't signed anywhere yet. Hope we get him next year. 1 Quote Link to comment
