Holy hell. It's finally here. Football is back!

 

Today our Huskers open the 2021 season on the road against the Fightin' Illini of Illinois. Nebraska leads the overall series 13-4-1, but lost to Illinois last year in a lackluster performance.

 

This year's Illinois team will be a bit of a mystery right up until kickoff. Fan favorite Lovie Smith is gone, replaced by Bert Bielema, former Wisconsin coach.

 

It's going to be a hot one in Champaign. Kickoff temp is expected to be 87 degrees, rising to 91 by game's end.

 

Let's start the season off right. Let's get a win.

This program has been a dumpster fire, but the day of Nebraska football's first game is still a top 5 day of the year for me.
