Nebraska55fan
Not sure how what happened 20-50 years ago matters to these kids. The glory years of the rivalry were really in the 70-95. Then we quit playing every year and when we did both teams usually weren't that great at the same time. It has no rivalry feel now. Even when NU was losing in the 70s- OU and NU were usually both ranked- often times in contention for national titles. Will never forget the 78 game- when sims fumbled near the south endzone- I threw orange hit a guy in the back of the head- he he was in front of me and jumped right when I tossed it. He could have cared less, he gave me a high five. So many years of close call frustration. We tore the goal posts down after the game and carried them all the way down to the capital fountains. It was great fun for a rabid NU fan and rambunctious teen until the following week losing at Mizzou. Sooner magic strikes again. Quote Link to comment
