Based on yards per play, below are his NCAA ranks from UMass and Pitt: 2014 UMass #56 5.75 ypp 2015 UMass #84 5.41 ypp 2016 UMass #94 5.33 ypp 2017 UMass #43 6.00 ypp 2018 UMass #16 6.40 ypp 2019 Pitt #106 5.18 ypp 2020 Pitt #98 5.13 ypp 2021 Pitt #22 6.45 ypp In 8 years he's had 2 top 30 offenses and 3 offenses ranked above #90. Yeah ranked 3rd in scoring for Pitt this year but #22 yards per play tells me he can maintain a drive. Isn't that what need big team? 1 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post ActualCornHusker
I hope everyone who was freaking out feels real good about themselves right now LOL If it truly ends up being Whipple, Quinn, Joseph, and Busch filling the vacant positions, I'm honestly not sure how much more people could have asked for. 6 3 2 2 Quote Link to comment

That year was great. But he also led the #98 and #106 offenses at Pitt. 2 Quote Link to comment

theknife
If Frost goes out and assembles a staff of legit P5 dudes, color me hyped. (Assuming we get a QB). 4 1 Quote Link to comment
Red Five
Whipple's ranks in scoring offense: 2014 UMass #78 27.3 ppg 2015 UMass #108 22.2 ppg 2016 UMass #110 23.3 ppg 2017 UMass #47 30.6 ppg 2018 UMass #35 32.8 ppg 2019 Pitt #112 21.2 ppg 2020 Pitt #58 29.0 ppg 2021Pitt #3 43.0 ppg 2021 is clearly an outlier. He's had as many offenses rank in >100 in scoring offense as he has had in the top 50. 1 Quote Link to comment
chamrocck
I like Quinn. Wouldn’t mind if he took some of his ND recruits with him. 1 Quote Link to comment

Outside of the fact those are not talent rich schools at all. 8 5 Quote Link to comment

Lorewarn
Guys, I think Kenny Pickett would actually be eligible for one more year at a different school as a grad transfer if he wanted it. Just saying... 3 2 Quote Link to comment

Sure, but we aren't talking about the talent pool of UMASS or PITT. We have some really great talent, a great WR coach and potentially great OL Coach. We are going to have the most talented staff he's worked on in my opinion. 1 Quote Link to comment
chamrocck
Both Whipple and Quinn are older with head coaching experience. If it’s these guys it tells me we highly valued bringing in some experienced grizzled vets to help Frost. We all saw Frost was in over his head and these guys seem like they can try to stabilize things and take care of coaching football. This route could be safe and less friction vs. some young guy coming in at OC trying to make a name for himself. Plus I think these guys would tell Frost when it’s not working vs the staff that owed him since he brought them over as reward from UCF. Marry Frost’s concepts with these guy’s experience. 3 Quote Link to comment
