everybody knows my name
We do not play to win here…we play to keep games close and lose by one score…if you want a win, beat Wisconsin yourselves next week and stop asking us for the impossible. can you imagine the nerve on this guy expecting us to beat a ranked opponent? Jeez…the nerve…what next? He will expect our special teams to make a field goal or return a punt for a TD…where does it end? I am really looking forward to watching your 20-17 loss to the Ioways next weekend. 1 Quote Link to comment

Packerhuskerfan
Iowa lets other teams make their mistakes and capitalizes off of them. Unfortunately, Nebraska is freely giving. Assuming Martinez's shoulder is still hurt, that will probably lead to 2 to 3 picks. Quote Link to comment
rdg25
It's a shame a team this good has lost close games to good teams to keep them out of a bowl. Nebraska was good enough talent-wise to win the Big Ten West. Looking for Nebraska can take out all their frustrations Friday and do to Iowa what they did to Northwestern. Or just win any way they can. Best fan base in the Big Ten too, if Nebraska plays Northwestern at Wrigley Field like yesterday, that place looks like a Cardinals game, sea of red. CyHawk
I suspect that Iowa will win by a hair, and not because of their offense, which is horrible. In actuality, there can be two winners in this game. Iowa can win by scoring more points, but the Huskers can get another moral victory just by being close. Unfortunately Frost has lowered the bar so much that just being close is good enough. It is clear by this board that many of the fans have lowered expectations also. Jeez, remember way back when you had a good team and it felt easy? Remember when patsy teams would come into Memorial stadium back when there were legit sellouts and applaud for the team that just got pummeled? Seems like a long time ago because it was. I say Iowa wins 19 (1 touchdown/extra point and 4 field goals) to 16 ( 2 touchdowns, one missed extra point, one field goal) and it will be a nailbiter down to the end. Frost will mismanage the clock, AM will try to pull a miracle, and Iowas Moss will pick it off to end the game. BTW, Iowas one touchdown will either be a pick 6 or a kickoff/punt return for TD (because the offense sucks that bad). In the end, it will be the nail in Frosts coffin. Quote Link to comment

He's not getting fired at 3-9, no sir, he's back for 2022 regardless. I say either a close loss or Nebraska wins by around 28. 1 Quote Link to comment

We might have reached the point where only non-Husker fans still believe he can win there. 1 Quote Link to comment

Dogs In A Pile
Will you accept a moral victory in lieu of an actual victory on the scoreboard? Quote Link to comment
Dano564
This is all you need to do. If you win the toss, kickoff and let Iowa fizzle. You'll get the ball back after they make a really nice punt. Then work the ball down the field with decent passes. Key is, don't throw any balls to the Hawkeyes. That is there only way of scoring. Use some running plays and get a 7-0 lead. Then kickoff and stop them again. Make them run 10 plays and keep everything in front of you. Then stop them again. They'll have another perfect punt inside your 20, but then just be patient and run the ball a bit and complete a third down pass to get the ball moving. Don't let Bryce Benhart get his butt kicked like he usually does so AM doesn't get too much pressure. Use that #11 guy you have. That TE who is 7 feet tall who catches everything thrown his way. Run him down the seam a couple times and Iowa won't be able to stop it. Score another TD to go up 14-0. (I know, it's not considered a close game if you take a 14-0 lead, but it's okay. What Minnesota likes to do is allow the other team an early score just so it doesn't seem like it's really odd that one team is scoring all of the points). When you get up 14-0, just forget about all of the close game stuff, and just kick the ball to Iowa. Again, just don't let them make a 40+ yd TD and you'll be fine. If they get 4-5 first downs, that's okay because they'll use up some clock. Eventually their QB will mess up and throw YOUR TEAM the ball. At this point, just pretend you are playing Northwestern. Chant "We don't do slogans" or whatever your slogan is to help cheer your team to a non-one-score victory. Good luck! 1 Quote Link to comment
