Their stats were as close to identical as they are, with Grayson having 8 1/2 sacks and 14 1/2 TFLs and Gabriel picking up 7 sacks and 12 TFLs. Now this is where you might ask, 'Everyone else probably a wants a 2-for-1 deal on this one too, right?' And that would be mostly correct, as the twins have racked up a strong collection of offers since entering the portal on Jan. 27. 247Sports' Chris Hummer included their names on Feb. 11 when accounting for some of the best unsigned players still in the portal. He wrote then, "The twins have received offers from Penn State, UCLA, USC, West Virginia, Kansas, Oregon State and have heard from many others. Gabriel Murphy told 247Sports the brothers do plan to play together at their next stop. Nice. They're good. It's depth. High motor. Love to play. And we need to add some older experienced big guys to the DLine room. Not sure if we get them (who's our Dline coach?). I am just glad the Huskers know we need to get help on the line. 1 Quote Link to comment

Husker staff knows it's going to be all hands on deck, for lineman (Off & Def). Got to go through spring. Quote Link to comment
BIG ERN
So we have 4 pass rushers still on the transfer board and it's almost March...recruiting has def changed. And I'm here for it. 1 Quote Link to comment
suh_fan93
If Nebraska somehow beat out Texas for Mathis that would be huge. He would instantly help out on D. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
I have been hoping they were going to offer the twins. That would be a great addition to the roster and would help solve our DLine problems. Landing Mathis too would land Nebraska in the conversation for winning the division and winning the conference. 3 1 Quote Link to comment

Husker in WI
I think they'd be helpful for the pass rush problem, but would they really be playing DL? I guess which positions are DL for us are getting more blurred as our OLBs are playing a lot of 4-3 end type stuff. But they would be taking snaps from guys like Nelson and Payne, not snaps from Robinson or Rogers. 2 Quote Link to comment

Our Dline is the biggest issue the team has and is going to be the difference in 2-3 wins or losses this season. And the division isn't exactly overwhelming but what most teams do have? A pretty good QB. We need a better pass rush and are going to need more bodies that can play period in order to even have a shot at a winning season. The difference between a winning season and a Division title is paper thin. 2 Quote Link to comment

The difference between a winning season and a Division title is paper thin. Fans talking like this, every year mind you, when we just went 3-9, and have the following records against our divison under Frost is just ridiculous: Wisconsin: 0-3 (lost 8 in a row overall) Iowa: 0-4 (lost 7 in a row overall) Minnesota: 1-3 Purdue: 1-3 NW: 2-2 Illinois: 2-2 Overall: 6-17 You're not living in reality by saying the division isn't overwhelming, to us it is exactly that. I will agree the D line is the biggest issue on the team, followed closely by the O line. The defense is primed for a step back and people are just blissfully ignoring that. The offense is learning a new system, with new coaches, and basically new lines on both sides due to the likely position shifting on the O line. Expecting a huge win jump is silly and you will see that when the Vegas odds come out at 5 wins. 2 2 Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
What a weak way to define a prediction. They didn't beat em so they probably won't.. lol. Those were all winnable close games last year and none of those teams brought in anyone of significant importance. The only one who you can say they have is Michigan State and it was at a position of reloading a position that was already excellent last year. Nebraska made the most significant change that was needed. A qb who walks off throwing touchdowns not handing out free wins to the other team. These 3 and one piece still on the way would put Nebraska in the position to control the division for thevsecond year in a row.. It doesn't mean they will win, but it's their division to win or throw away. With a little more stability and More important than possibly any other metrics, a far easier Cross division slate. 2 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Let's see, shall we go with historical precedent? Or hopes and dreams? Which one is the weaker argument at this junction? That is just hilarious dude. People like you say this EVERY YEAR. How does that work out for all of us? 5 straight losing seasons and 6 of 7, but it's gonna magically work this year because we clearly make smarter moves than the rest of the division! If those games were so winnable, why did we lose all 9 of them? Didn't win a single one. LMAO Weak way to define a prediction. You should go work in Vegas! You clearly have it all figured out. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
