BIG ERN
I said since day 1 that Nash Hutmacher needed to play OL...he reminded me a lot of Linderbaum from Iowa who started on the DL. Similar body types, both were great wrestlers, and both don't have much of a wingspan. I think he would have started this year. Teddy Hutmacher Jurgens Nouili Turner Potential to also move Turner inside and Benhart start at RT. With the right OL coach all these kids can improve. There is size and talent to work with and I always felt Greg Austin was the weakest assistant coach we had. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
I agree with Hutch. I also think Turner could thrive at the guard spot. But as you ended your post, the first step already has occurred. Getting rid of the weakest link in Austin Quote Link to comment
JJ Husker
Immediate improvement in OL would be nice. But two problems with your scenario. 1- Jurgens is gone. 2- I’m not sure a new coach can fix what ails Benhart. Although hopefully the new coach will not keep trotting him out there after repeated false starts, holdings and whiffs. Quote Link to comment
Guy Chamberlin
Nash Hutmacher deserves more time because his name sounds so nasty. 5 Quote Link to comment
Bigred_inSD
Polar bear could do well with a switch. Jurgens was leaving I thought? Quote Link to comment

Scarlet
Hopefully with a new OL coach coming in, he'll evaluate with Tuioti and get the right bodies in the right places and then coach them up. Moving Nash to OL leaves a glaring hole at MG on D. Does a guy like Piper fit there then? Or does Piper get fixed on the O-line with a new coach and Nash stay on D? Lack of depth on both lines is looming over the 2022 season. Quote Link to comment

One way or another, we've gotta find a replacement for Daniels. I think a lot of people don't really grasp just how critical that is for next year... 2 Quote Link to comment

He could help us at guard and could end up being very good there. Quote Link to comment
ndobney
I think we need one or two more lineman in the portal Quote Link to comment

I think a lot of people don't really grasp just how critical that is for next year... He had a really nice season. And I'd love to have another player like him. But he also played fewer than half of the snaps. Which means we were still doing quite a few good things on defense even when he wasn't in there. 3 Quote Link to comment
BaytownHusker
We have the guys i feel. Coaching cures alot. So we will see how this off season goes. Not to mention if we bring in some better guys as well.. But it all leads back to the beginning. Better coaching cures all.. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
C-4
Call less RPO plays. Blocking inherently can’t be as good on them. 4 Quote Link to comment

Dude was a true frosh seeing his first meaningful reps going against top-tier O-line. That's a pretty tough situation. 3 Quote Link to comment
