In fairness, we've only had the report from one side of the conversation and from the guy who is in PR mode. In reading the articles coming out of College Station, Texas had been plotting this change for months and Schlossnagle is a grade A *insert favorite derogatory term here*. I fully believe Trev said what is being reported ('it's ok if you want a different job'), but a lot of context is missing and given who is spilling about the conversation, I take the report with a heavy dose of skepticism. 

 

That said, I suspect that Trev won't be staying long in College Station. It's a shame that he wiped out so much goodwill for what appears to be a relatively lateral move.

This is kind of what I’m getting at.  I think Trev is a douche, but there’s a reason they didn’t go after this guy.  As you stated, we’ve heard his side of the story.

The reason was that the guy didn't want to stay in College Station. Texas had been plotting the change for weeks (maybe months) and I suspect there was not a lot Trev or the aTm boosters could have done to keep him. Given how UT's season ended June 2nd, they withheld firing the coach for three weeks and announce the hiring immediately after the CWS ended. Doesn't give a true window to negotiate in good faith.

I know some people who work at Creighton in the athletic department. They all feel that way from the transition from Bruce Rasmussen to Marcus Blossom, they say it's night and day different now. Coaches and staff all feel it. I'm not surprised that coaches and staff at ATM feel a change with Trev. I'd be more surprised if they felt nothing changed.

Yep!  I have some "minor" connections there and what you said is spot on.  There is a reason that Mac ALMOST left this year.  

 

Bruce shook hands and drank and left everyone alone.  Blossom is not like that.  Mac (who is a great guy but I hate the jays and their fans) called his bluff and "won", I don't think Mac wants to leave but he sure did a great job pretending like it.

Yeah the one quote that stands out to me is with Ras, they all said it was like a Sunday dinner with the family. You didn't always get along, but you were family. With Blossom it's now a business feel. Considering the dollar amounts involved, it makes sense.  And the same feeling is being felt at UNO after Trev left. Their newish AD has a lot of people wishing Trev was back.
