I... feel like you're making an argument that we would be better off in the year of our lord 2024 if we had kept Bo this whole time? Am I mistaken? Am I the wind? Are you the wind? Is Johnny Rodgers the wind that just blew past us?

Nah- he had to go. But you CAN be a good coach and ahole.

funny that brother Carl made the news today. What timing.

No doubt we would coronate Rhule if he delivered a 9 win season this year. Or next year. Don't even need to be in the Big 10 mix. Just a bowl game. Expectations have certainly cratered. In the most literal way, we have been worse without Bo.

But if you went back to 2014 and told Nebraska fans that Bo Pelini would never get over that next hump, and we should be content with 9 wins, a couple embarrassing beatdowns, a mid-tier bowl game, and either barely cracking the Top 25 or finishing out of it entirely, I don't think you'd get many takers. Understandably so.

If you're suggesting that Nebraska made a mistake, Youngstown State made the same mistake three seasons faster, and LSU made the same mistake in one season, and not a single team stepped in to take advantage of all these programs mistakenly letting Bo Pelini go.

The Big Ten is stronger now though with the addition of the 4 Pac-12 schools so it's not an apples to apples comparison.  I also guarantee Rhule isn't giving up 500+ rushing yards and 70 points to a 7-5 Wisconsin team.

Please expand on what he lied about exactly. Leave your feelings out of it.

Well you brought up "the truth" he spoke without specifics. My guess, based on years of these exchanges, is that it has something to do with fairweather fans and the AD being a c***. Tapegate One was after the Ohio State game, in which he raged at the fairthweather fans who left at halftime of a lifeless performance by Nebraska. In truth, it was just a small segment of the student section, and in fact a still packed Memorial Stadium cheered wildly for the biggest comeback in Nebraska history. Thin-skinned Bo just saw the glass as 97% empty and went after the entire state. We don't have fairweather fans, but they do know good (and bad) football when they see it.

It's not a lie that a couple Husker beat reporters had started hammering Bo, but in truth that comes with the territory, coach. Plenty of football-crazed hotbeds serve up much worse than Dirk Chatelien. Bo couldn't escape scrutiny at Youngstown State or LSU either, so there's an excellent chance it's on Bo.

The truth is that even after Tapegate, Eichorst gave Bo a contract extension, an extra plane for recruiting, and a bigger budget, not to mention a major PR campaign to promote the lighter side of Bo. The Boleivers often have a hard time believing that. Whatever you think of Eichorst, both tapes suggest Bo was a disloyal prick himself and no pleasure to work with. Nebraska fans didn't invent that. It followed Bo elsewhere.

As someone who actually met and spoke with the Pelini Bros I can tell you from MY REAL EXPERIENCE, not stuff you heard from a friend who heard it from a friend...that they are both your typical normal everyday people.

Too many of us fans LIVE for the drama of fake stories about our coaches.  My newer personal favorite being that Frost and Davison were soooooo f#&%ing hammered at the golf course that the police were almost called and they had to keep them away from a group of kids that they were supposed to be meeting.  Shocking that none of this has leaked online, I guess every golfer out there that day did not have their phone with them while the most recognizable guy in the state was tearing up the golf course on his golf cart, slamming beers, yelling and swearing, while having to be "calmed down" by staff

If you want to argue the guy should have been fired, that is fine.  I don't think he should have.  But if your argument is that he is some bad guy, ehhhh, not really.  He is pretty much a normal person.

Do you mean to tell me that in a brief interaction with a stranger, Bo Pelini didn't fly off in a rage or call you a c***?

You know who was really warm-hearted with children and pets? Hitler. But the "gotcha" media never showed that side of him!
