There's already a law where you have to provide care to the infant. This law would have forced doctors to poke and prod at infants who were guaranteed going to die due to health complications beyond the parents control. Perhaps giving parents the opportunity to love those last moments in peace with their child should be more of a priority, instead of trying to find ways to punish good doctors for being humane.

I know someone who has been in this exact situation.  They were allowed to hold their baby as it died and love it as much as they could instead of it being rushed off to the ICU to never be seen alive again.

And then we get responses like this from nic and archy who clearly don't understand the subject. Easier to fall in line with their Republican talking points than actually educating themselves.

After an abortion? I had friends with a baby born with trisomy 13 ….I think. We went and saw the baby too. It lived several days. They chose a normal delivery, and the baby survived as long as it could. They tried to make the baby comfortable.

And if that "law" had been put into place the medical staff would have had to take drastic measures to improve/save the life of that baby that everyone knew was not likely to survive a year.  They wouldn't have just provided comfort, and many of the procedures and things they would have been legally forced to do would have been painful and traumatic for the baby and its family.

My wife took the pill for many, many years for the exact reasons PP explained.  This DeSanctis Marr person is a quack.

They came after Roe even though they said under oath they wouldn't. They're going to come after Obergefell, Griswold and Lawrence. Religious zealotry is a plague on civilization.

So did wife.  So does my daughter.  Miss Marr is a blubbering idiot.  It amazes me that a woman, of all people, would be this ignorant on the subject.

I'd say a fair number of the girls I knew in college (and even in adult life now) were/are on BC for medical reasons like cysts, heavy painful periods, endometriosis, etc. Yes, it comes with some side affects which can be serious, but it also means a much better quality of life. What kind of person wants the people they care about to routinely suffer when there is a way to prevent it?

Unless this person lives in the remote wilderness and protestors just happen to be protesting every hospital or clinic in the area, I have a real hard time believing this to be true.  Why lie about it (allegedly) to make your case??  Definitely weird.

Yeah, that's kind of hard to believe.

My wife went to the hospital and our fertility specialist performed the extraction.  I'm not sure why someone would encounter protestors outside of places like that...

Of all the dishonesty and misrepresentation going on in the country, THIS is the tweet that trips your integrity meter?

I can't confirm where Rep. Perez lives, but she does represent a rural district. If it took her less than two hours (plural!) to get to the nearest clinic, you have indeed flushed out her dishonesty, effectively negating her entire argument.

I can't speak to her particular clinic, but there's a Planned Parenthood at the bottom of the hill where I've lived for 22 years, and the anti-choice protesters are a fixture of the neighborhood.

My bad, I forgot we can’t comment on anything that isn’t Trump related or Republican related.   I’ll leave Mrs. Santos Gluesenkamp Perez alone for now on.

There are plenty of Democratic f#&%-ups deserving comment. This bit of outrage seems so incredibly thin it's almost like you were reaching. Given the limited time the good Lord gives us on the Earth I wondered why you even bothered to cut, paste and comment.

Maybe the Good Lord gave me some extra credit time in order to accomplish that task.

Plus it seems to irritate you so added bonus maybe :D
