2022 Big Ten win totals, odds, picks: Predictions for each team as Ohio State, Michigan face large numbers

The Big Ten saw plenty of surprises last season. Michigan won the conference for the first time since 2004 and went to the College Football Playoff, while Ohio State and Michigan State played in New Year's Six bowls. In the conference's West division, Minnesota recovered from a down 2020 to win nine games, as did Purdue, which notched its highest win total since 2003.

On the other side, Penn State had another mediocre (7-6) season and Northwestern followed up a division title with a 3-9 record. Will we see as many surprises in 2022, or will things return to normal? I have no idea, but that's never stopped me from trying to peak into the future anyway. Let's do that with a look at 2022 Big Ten win totals from Caesars Sportsbook

Nebraska

Over/under 7.5 wins

Wins: Northwestern, North Dakota, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota

Losses: Oklahoma, Rutgers, Purdue, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa

Analysis: Can the greatest 3-9 team of all time improve to 8-4 in 2022? Considering Nebraska played like a 6-6 team last year, it technically wouldn't be that large a leap, but I'm not going to bet on it. Honestly, I don't know what anybody has seen from Nebraska over the last eight years that would make them optimistic about anything. However, I think we'll see a rebound from a lot of the horrific breaks this team suffered last year. The Greatest 3-9 Team Of All Time will be a perfectly mediocre 6-6 team. It might even get to 7-5, but betting on 8-4 feels foolish.
Pick: Under 7.5 (-125)

More likely to lose to Minnesota than Rutgers. I also think Purdue is a win and we beat either Wisconsin or Iowa.

He needed to swap Minnesota and Rutgers but now that I say that...  You just never know what is going to happen with a SF team.  I am more a little more optimistic about this season however.  Mostly because of a new QB.

I can understand alot of Nebraska fans thought process when it comes to predicting their win and loss record for this year and beyond bc of what they haven't done or were predicted to do better but haven't but i believe this team easily gets to 8 wins this year. Scott Frost I believe has taking the right steps to get passed his failures and the young men that have joined this program either by high school or transfer see it also. New coaches same goal every year just win. We all know SF offense has been lacking badly bc of how much the defense plays. Whipple wouldn't have left Pitt to come here just to lose and get fired so did all the other new coaches. This is a new year and im tired of people thinking we wont get to 5 wins. New Offense coordinator, new experienced qb, one of the best wr coach's in the nation what more could you ask for in the sense that everything is improved??? Sit back and enjoy Nebraska going to a bowl game this year. If not then i will eat my words that SF wasn't good enough to coach here but i will say is that he didn't lay down dying by doing what he did.
