TGHusker
I'm voiting for Joy in the Oklahoma Gov race. Our current governor is a Trump clone want to be. The successful business guy who thinks he knows more than anyone in the room. He once did a campaign event at a gathering I was attending when he first ran for governor 4 years ago. I asked him a tough question that he particularly didn't care for and fudged his way through it in front of the crowd of about 200 people. Joy is the current Superintendent of Schools and changed her registration from GOP to Dem just to run against Stitt - knowing she couldn't win in the GOP primary. She won the Dem nomination without much problem because the Dems knew they couldn't win in heavy red Oklahoma without a center right candidate. 1 Link to comment

commando
i am really getting sick of every republican ad in Nebraska talking about stopping the democrats from raising our already to high taxes. considering the republicans have had the trifecta in Nebraska since 1999 i would lean towards blaming the republicans for our high taxes. unless the last 24 years of political dominance in Nebraska doesn't count. 2 Link to comment

Stitt as ticked off the powerful Indian tribes in the state (trying to take some of their casino money) and they have ALL indorsed Joy. Joy is very well spoken, smart and knows her stuff. She'll get the female vote too as Stitt has come across as gruff and insensitive on woman's issues. I couldn't get the graph to copy and past on here?? Anyway this link shows that Joy is rising fast and Stitt has lost ground. He is only leading by 2 pts. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/governor/2022/oklahoma/ Who’s ahead in the Oklahoma governor race? An updating average, accounting for each poll’s quality, recency, sample size and partisan lean. Stitt 44.9% Hofmeister 43 1 Link to comment

Yes, kind of like the Utah Senate race - McMullin running as a Indep vs Lee the GOPer Since Oklahoma has closed primaries, Joy had no choice but to change parties as the Trumpers rule the GOP and she would not have won the GOP primary without Dem support. Having open primaries may be reason enough to keep the crazy people from dominating one party. Link to comment
nic
I saw that the polls think the Replican in Oregon has a chance. Of course polls have been pretty far off the last several years. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/governor/2022/oregon/ Link to comment
