Have to admit, I’m surprised.  I know they are going to be good. But, it sure seems like we have lost a lot of talent from last year.

I think there was some oddity where we actually only had about the third or fourth most first-place votes and were still #1.  So it's possible that we're still getting as many votes as we were but Texas stole votes from others.

 

But, still ...

I mean I get hating Texas, but they went on the road and pretty much dominated a top 10 squad 2 nights in a row. They earned it.

I know. But, I’m being a bias fan and I’m allowed to do that. 
 

After seeing football, this seems to be my only sports joy this year. 
 

So, Texas sucks.

I was curious so I had to go look it up.  I did exaggerate a bit.  We were #1 with 24 first-place votes.  Texas was second with 27.  Wisconsin was third with 12 and Louisville got one first-place vote.  We were ahead of Texas by 10 ranking points.

 

Now we have 23 first-place votes.  So we only lost one to Texas.  But Texas got all of the votes that were previously going to Wisconsin and Louisville.

 

We actually gained gained 14 ranking points.  But Texas gained 47.
