Transfer Portal Targets 2022

Okie State QB Sanders and Pitt QB Slovis to the portal. QB’s are hired guns now in this day and age. Too much on the line to sit and wait your turn or lose your job and become a backup. I don’t really like it but it is what it is. If Rhule is the talent evaluator we keep hearing about he needs to make sure we have viable QB’s. So many are in the portal now. Who does he target?

I'm sure Rhule will make the ultimate call but I think maybe Satterfield combined with some assistants will make the call on what QB to go after. I don't think Rhule is a great QB evaluator. Maybe he is but from what I can tell his true eye for talent is on defense at really every level and WR on offense.

If CT stays, QB is low on my level of needs. He is a good QB that will win more games than he loses with a line that keeps him upright.   Focus on the trenches and build out.  I think that’s Rhule’s plan too.   If he does that CT will be very good for us.

I suspect more of the issue with Clester was geared towards Frost, as a lot of that 95 team, and not towards Nebraska.  With Frost not here, I think this opens the door for the blessings from Dad to come to Lincoln.   Plus there was some residual bad taste from not taking CJ.   But I suspect with recent changes, changes in attitude from Clester as well.

For sure. Big picture absolutely. Lines already thin getting thinner even though most of them that have left are uh…not great.

Yeah. I'm very interested in how Rhule and staff go about fixing both lines. Do we actually have talent on the team that can be coached up and developed? Will getting too many transfers make this a yearly problem or not develop the lines? Can recruiting get he necessary talent and can the coaches develop them fast enough? How does S&C fit into all of this?
