Transferring to Greenwood High School in Arkansas

Quote

Khalil "Champ" Davis, a 5-10, 175-pounder, made an impact at Omaha North as a slot receiver in his second season on the varsity squad. Davis caught 30 passes for 561 yards and six touchdowns last season. He also had eight carries for 121 yards and a score.

Davis has a scholarship offer from the University of Nebraska.

While he might not be acquainted with Greenwood, situated in Arkansas's River Valley, the town does have at least one recognizable face to Davis. Bulldogs rising junior quarterback phenom Kane Archer was a former teammate of Davis' on a youth football travel team, the KC Outlaws, based out of Kansas City, Mo.

The Bulldogs are a perennial Arkansas power and have played in the past four Class 6A state championship games and have won two. Last season, they finished 13-0 en route to the school's 11th title.

Greenwood will be picked by most Arkansas pundits to repeat in 2024 and will be loaded on offense with Archer (2,399 yards, 33 TDs in 2023), one of the top QBs in the nation in the 2026 class, and rising senior receivers Grant Karnes (990 receiving yards, 13 TDs)  and Isaiah Arrington (582 receiving yards, 9 TDs) returning. Adding Davis with that duo gives Archer one more big-play option. The Bulldogs also feature Division I offensive lineman recruit Cody Taylor, who is a rising junior.
