This accounts for the news yesterday.  It has us at 99 but includes Alante Brown (who isn't currently with the team).

So still a ways to go to get to 85.

Alante supposedly has a good shot to be back by summer. I think there’s quite a few guys who it is easy to say will leave. Not trying to be mean but guys who were reaches. E. Johnson, Hardy, Tagoloa, Morton,  Malcolm, & Hardy II I would suspect leave.

It sounds like Alante wanted to be here but he was not academically eligible for this semester. That’s why the reports were that he could return this summer. He had to get his grades up to get back to get back into the University. Either things weren’t looking good in regards to him getting that done or Rhule likes what we have enough that he told him that it’s best for him to move on.

Time to update the Frost high school WR/TE recruiting chart.  Wouldn't be surprised if I have to update this another time next week.

Only 4 of 18 WRs remain.  And only 1 of those 4 have ever played in a game (Betts).

Only 2 of 7 TEs remain at TE (2 moved to defense this spring).  The 2 remaining have played in 1 game.

2018 Miles Jones - 1 game / 26 yards / transferred

Currently at 98.  13 to go.

I expect a handful to be gone from the DB room next week, another WR or 2, and would think we're gonna trim the QB room down a bit.  I also anticipate rhule and staff trying their best to get a spot or 2 below the 85 mark to leave an opening for a potential impact transfer.  Hard to come by that can play immediately but would be great to add another lineman on both sides of the ball- added depth for the OL and still think we're unproven/light upfront on the DL.  The rest I feel ok rolling with.

Man that is a lot of wasted star power and wasted recruiting opportunities.  It would've been better if we had spent time on 2 star guys who worked their tale off just to be here and had time to play.   Of course Frost wouldn't have developed those guys either - I believe Rhule would have.

There obviously has been some how a lack of leadership from coaches to motivate and coach these players.  But, at the same time, I feel like there is a lack of culture within the players.  At some point, this many players with decent enough talent to contribute, someone needs to step up and be a leader within the room to work and get better and hold others accountable. I feel that at some point, there has to be some blame to go back on the group of players themselves.

That is all true as well.  If players are just in it for the 'pay check' they risk nothing and becomes a losing culture.  I hope we see purge of any existing players who aren't buying into the new program.  Would like to see the Unity Council in full force again.

Apologies if this was answered earlier in the thread, but should Cam Jurgens be listed here as a High School TE?

I guess he could be, but a) I don't see him as a Frost recruit since he committed in 2015 and b) was he recruited as a TE?

Either way, he was a whiff as a TE since he never played there.

Eh, I said this months ago on this thread and got chewed out for it but I think this breakdown is a little too selective and not even cracks the top 5 of what frosty failed to do.  Sure, the HS recruiting needs to be better for wide outs but Wan'dale panned out just fine, we just misused him (because our RB room and run game was so atrocious and one of the groups frosty and staff really f'd up with).  The 2nd thing somewhat wrong with this breakdown is its based off the college football world from 5 + years ago- sure, ideally you want to hit on hs recruiting but the transfer portal adds an element not captured in this breakdown and we've largely done pretty damn well in this area in the WR room (Toure & palmer).

TLDR: Frosty f'd up the hs recruiting of wr and yes we should;ve had way more success stories- but it pales in comparison to the impact of having a s#!t o line, incoherent run game strat, and general piss poor execution by the team as a whole that played a much larger factor to this dark period of husker football.
