You accused me of fabricating......you used the word twice in your accusation.  I didn't fabricate.

So you moved your goalpost......

My bad.  I'll not expect you to apply critical thinking skills next time.

Especially when their coach has told a much different story.

I really did not intend for this ti be such a big deal.....but what different story are you referring to that Sanders told?

The Doane-Frazier comparison was intended for people who know Nebraska football, obviously, and as "vibes" go, it's not unfair.  Having the chance to play for a superstar pulls in some players and motivates others. By Crete, Nebraska standards, Tommie would have been a Deion sized figure.

But maybe the coach's style doesn't translate, and maybe the coach misreads his own pedigree. Superstar athletes often make poor coaches, because they don't understand why young players can't do the same things they and their champion-grade teammates did.

By most accounts, Tommie Frazier turned out to be an arrogant a$$h@!e. Deion has been irritating folks for decades.

Deion may be hard-pressed to field the team he wants in 2023, but we should be able to grade the hire after three years or so. We could all check back then, or keep posting our frothy anecdotal observations. Your call.

I loved coaching freshmen B team football and there were a lot of times where me and some of the dudes I coached with were just like "What the hell is that kid doing"...none of us were great players but some of these kids were so bad that it was confusing.

The worst...teaching kids how to take the correct angle, it was amazing how poorly those kids judged angles.

I can only imagine what it is like for amazing athletes when they try to coach.  "Just jump from the free-throw line and dunk it, gooooosh!"

Colorado currently has 66 scholarship players.  They need to get 19 more transfers this spring/summer to just get to 85

Colorado recently updated its 2023 football roster. All of the names of players who are departing via the portal have been deleted. The revised roster lists 76 players: 12 returning scholarship players, 21 incoming transfers, 17 new freshmen and 26 walk-ons. Not listed are 16 more transfers who have verbally committed.

I really like this quote from a Big 12 staff member:

“It’s unprecedented enough that, like, you could tell me this is gonna lead to them buying the best 25 players in the portal and I guess I’d believe it,” the Big 12 Director of Player Personnel said. “You could tell me they got rid of the exact amount of guys that they already have silent commitments from prior tampering and I’d believe it. You could tell me that every 10 minutes they’re making a new decision and they’re gonna end up playing next season with 61 scholarship players and I’d believe it. Like, I’ve got no f—ing clue.”

Yikes. Wouldn't have guessed the Huskers were at #7.

Technicallly t-8 but...

When you were as far over the limit as we were, that doesn't seem surprising at all.  We're still over the limit (-ish) even with all those departures.

If we’re comparing NU to CU, Nebraska began way over the limit and has to get DOWN to the number late. Whereas CU began with radical weeding and now has to try get their numbers UP. I understand why both teams needed to flip their rosters but I like the way Rhule went about it much better. It’s going to be near impossible for CU to add very many impact players this late. And let’s face it, the purpose of the portal is to add impact players at positions of need, not to just fill out a roster.

There's drinking the Kool-Aid.

Then there's this:

I wonder if it’s 8.1% of the number of bets or if it’s 8.1% of the money wagered?

The first option isn’t terribly surprising as a $1 bet at +25000 would payout $251.00. Could be a whole bunch of cheap lotto ticket bets. If it’s the latter, MGM will soon be expanding a casino.

Also, BetMGM is probably the most heavily advertised sportsbook in Colorado (it’s the one I use) so there is likely a decently high percentage of bets coming from within the Centennial state.

:Frosty: TRIGGER ALERT.  IT IS ADVISED TO PUT DOWN ANY KOOL AID SO YOU DON’T SPILL IT.  IF THE TRIGGER IS TOO INTENSE SEEK MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST IMMEDIATELY. :Frosty:

Yep, I'm triggered big time. Mat Smith is such a CU homer, it's disgusting. I hate it every time he's on the air here, because he will always, and I mean always, find a way to slam the Huskers every time. This last time I heard him on, he was asked how many games he thinks CU can win this year. He landed on 7-8 with a bowl game, but then finished by saying "Hey, as long as we beat CSU and Nebraska, that's all I care about." What a douche nozzle.
