Nebhawk
If we are who we think we are yet, Rhule should get good recruits in here. If we use our NIL money right, and entice players enough, we will get recruits. Not worried about recruiting this season. More worried about getting transfers thru the portal. Recruiting will pay off 3 years from now, but if we are going to compete next season and the season after that, we need portal players. Last time I looked, I didnt see very many linemen in the portal yet. Funny season is just around the corner, so be prepared for alot of names to come out of the wood work! Quote Link to comment

That is very possible, and if that happens, that shouldn’t be an indictment on Rhule and his new staff. If you aren’t prepared for some potential bad news during a transition, you aren’t being realistic. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

Supposedly he heard Rhule mentioned was being hired 2 weeks ago from one of his NFL buddies and that guy wasn’t positive on Rhule. It’s ok. People are going to have differing opinions. IMO this stat is being a bit over-used. Yes, he did not beat a ranked team. That is a disappointment. But, Texas finished the 2019 season ranked #25 (whom Baylor beat on Nov. 23 that year) and Baylor was a field goal away in OT with Oklahoma. And that's all after the fact he took over not only a program in disarray, but started coaching at a university in disarray. Imagine what it was like having to recruit to a place with all the crap they had going on. Winning matters, so I won't disregard the statistic completely. He'll need to prove himself here. But, the fact he didn't get that particular achievement unlocked at Baylor doesn't hold much weight with me in terms of the immediate goals and needs of the program. 2 2 Quote Link to comment

HANC
Rhule develops guys and puts them in the nfl. Temple had 11 guys drafted during a 3 year period while he was there, more than doubled the number they had had in the previous decade combined. TEMPLE. He also put his fair share of dudes in the nfl in a short period of taking over the dumpster fire at Baylor with only 45 scholarship players to begin with. Kids want a path to NFL and he can do that. 4 1 3 Quote Link to comment
Hagg
Well, now that it's a done deal, he's talked a bit on Game Day, has a pretty good spiel, I am with him and his program. GBR! Oops, I said that after the Scott Frost confirmation of hire. Riley, too. Sorry if I jinxed you, Matt. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

knapplc
This comes across as Shanle pitching a fit because we didn't hire the guy he wanted. Some NFL coach rolled his eyes at Rhule. OK... so? What does that mean? Quote Link to comment

I have been saying all along, that is a lazy stat. Doing homework you will find exactly what you pointed out and that his teams beat many 8-3 teams. I am more concerned about did he win the games he was supposed to win. We need to do that FIRST 1 Quote Link to comment

Guess he was waiting to do that for Nebraska... Scott Frost did beat ranked teams at UCF. Maybe we should have given him more time. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
