I think he's tried, we had Rouse until OU went all in with the NIL deal. OL is just hard to address in the portal, fewer guys in there and everyone wants them. I agree Rhule hasn't succeeded, but it's hard to knock him for it because I think he tried. I do also think there's some solid talent here if he can unlock it, but I think upgrading was a priority and we just struck out.

Only the top schools can upgrade OL through the portal, as you said there are only like 5 sure fire starters each cycle.  We must develop HS OL, (and DL), in house if we ever want to be good again, period.

I’m sure the narrative changes if we end up landing the #1 OT in the country

At 2:45, the comments about Catapult (GPS) for each player were disappointing. It seems to have been another detail that overwhelmed the former coach. FSF.

Really cool comments about the seniors and winning this season at 11:30

13:30 portal vs high school guys

Rhule is going to be a great politician if he wants to be, not that I think he would, and I'm saying that in a good way. A head coach at this size of operation is a politician at times. Every time you hear him speak, though, he just knows how to speak to that audience.

It's a good speech and I ran through 3 brick walls after watching it.

Good article that goes to a point I really like about Rhule. In several speeches he'll say something to the effect of "I used to do it this way, but...." and then he'll explain himself. That article describes a few scenarios that sentence could be applied to.

Rhule sought help and asked predecessors Al Golden and Steve Addazio how to win at Temple.

That's... kinda weird, considering he was an assistant at Temple for the entirety of both of those coaches' tenures. It's not like he was an outsider who was unfamiliar with Temple or something.

Don't worry, he's probably been on the phone with Frost all offseason figuring out how to win at NU also.
