Harvey Perlman & Steve Pederson (Feeling a Tad Guilty?)

I wonder if Harvey Perlman and/or Steve Pederson feel at least a tad bit guilty or remorseful about their integral roles that precipitated the colossal downfall of Nebraska Cornhusker football.

I doubt it.  Perlman never gave me the impression that he cared about football as much as one would think the Chancellor of NU should.

Pederson would be more concerned about himself than the football program. Perlman...I don't know. It wasn't that he didn't care about it. He just undervalued the importance of the program in relation to other things maybe.

I forget about Perlman.  I always thought it was strange when people would blame him since he was the Chancellor.   Then we've been way worse since he's been gone.  I don't think that's why we've been way worse, I just don't think it has a lot to do with the Chancellor.

@The Dude Perlman injected himself into the conversation when he publicly reprimanded Bo. Osborne as the AD would normally handle any discipline of a head coach, but Perlman went over Osborne's head in that case, and it probably wasn't the only time he did so. Perlman also shut out Osborne from having any input in who his successor as AD should be (even Bo has said that he felt that Osborne had earned that right).

 

Perlman meddled in the athletic department and football program, and therefore he's perfectly fair game for criticism in those areas.

Then his only consideration for AD was someone who would come in and fire Bo.  Then had no plan to actually look for a replacement because they thought anyone could win nine games here.
