Husker QB - TJ Lateef

Really hope Dylan recovers.

Full support for TJ.

If we end up 6-6 or 7-5 going bowling, it is NOT because of Dylan being out the rest of the year. This team has enormous holes. It'll be a shame if we think "We were all good and then Dylan went down."

I'm not sure how much more you can push him. He had 31 touches last night (29/2) and has the 4th highest number of carries for the season of any back in FBS. Maybe more Mozee.
I should've clarified. Keep the heavy load. Still get that 25-30 rep range. Hard next week and then some rest.

I've seen at least one post saying TJ was to redshirt and his playing the final 3 games is not a done deal? Any truth to that?

Anyway, best of luck to Dylan for a speedy & complete rehab. Injuries suck but it's football. Next man up.
GO 🌽 🏈!

i think they were hoping to save his redshirt....but i believe that is out the window now

He played pretty poorly. But it was a tough spot. Hopefully he can get a good week of prep.
It was pretty much exactly what I expected from a True frosh thrown to the wolves and handcuffed. He didn't turn it over, and made a couple plays. If he didn't trip EJ who knows...

It will be interesting to see how Holgo can/will gameplan for Lateef moving forward. Wasn’t a fan of some of the screens they called and the qb draw.
I hate our horizontal passing game. I hated it under Frost. Just gotta get vertical or use those slant passes that always get us for huge gains. Maybe the chip block and slide out stuff that teams also get us with.

Be interested to see if they'll dial up any designed roll outs to help him in the passing game or limit the actual reads he has to make. Unsure how he is making the reads for all of the routes. Dylan, with his experience and coaching, struggled at times. Maybe the old read, rip and run. Again, I'd go heavy with EJ and the run game (wish we had an RB2)...TJ at 6'1 201 is decent size for a running qb if needed. Personally, I'd have some designed runs. Make the D acct for him in the run game.

Not to be an a$$ and I'll preface with I really like him, I don't want to see HH in as QB. TJ has 3 more games and then the bowl. He needs all the reps he can get.

It looks like our last 3 opponents are all in the top 24 in passing defense. That is a very tough ask for a freshman being thrown in the fire. I think we will see a lot of loaded boxes as well, forcing us to try and throw down field. It'll be interesting.
