WBB: Huskers vs Northwestern State

Nebraska Women’s Basketball smothers Northwestern State 103-46 in its season opener. The Huskers shot 61% and the Demons shot 36% from the field.
Claire Johnson led NU with 21 points and Britt Prince added 19 points. Five Huskers scored double-digit points. Nebraska had 35 points off 24 turnovers.
Northwestern State went 12-24 from the line. and had 24 turnovers. The kids who coach Williams told pregame during the pregame pep rally to be very loud when the other team was shooting and they were forced at least 10 missed FT.
Huskers hit 8 3’s and went 23-30 from the line and recorded 36 rebounds, 14 steals 12 turnovers.
Note: NSU wasn't a very good team overall, they could hardly shoot and the Huskers D didn't take them lightly.
The crowd erupted when the Huskers scored their 67th points.
The kids chanted 6-7 as the Huskers brought the ball up and went crazy when they scored. It was on an "and 1" which led into a media time out, so the kids were extra excited.
Even the PA announced got up for it and yelled "timeout on the floor - with your score Nebraska 6-7 and Northwestern State 23" and the kids stood up and went crazy.

Redshirt freshman Kennadi Williams pitched in three points and three assists in her Nebraska debut. Her third-quarter layup put the Huskers up 67-23 with 4:50 left in the period and drew the loudest cheer of the day from the 8,000 on hand, including nearly 4,000 middle-grade students and accompanying adults attending the annual Sizemore Sportsmanship Pep Rally.
