*** 2026 Recruiting ***

I think some of these potential JUCO adds make a lot of sense. Sounds like going to a JUCO does not start your clock like it once did so they will have all of their eligibility minus if you go to a school before JUCO. You are getting older guys to pair with our young team that has experience playing above the high school level and potentially some guys whose bodies may be more adapt to play early. And more importantly they are cheaper than the portal. I think that is truly what they are after. The depth adds from the portal seem to not really pan out a ton. So you get a cheaper recruit, one with more eligibility, & probably on the cheap. Then you fill in the rest with high impact portal guys with an increasing budget. Keep in mind the roster is also going to shrink next year too so you will have more money to spend from a higher budget and less guys to pay.

We need to fire a few guys. Bradden should be let go (0 DL in class should be fire worthy). In state recruiting is a disaster and we arguably got one of the least impactful instate guys. This is the kind of class where Rhule gets fired after next year and we are totally fucked for 3 years after.

$64 million buyout after 2026. $55 million after 2027. He's not going anywhere until maybe 2029.

It takes a year to build relationships. There is very little D1 talent in NE this year!

He never started until after the portal season last year as he was still coaching at KC. You take the best available coach. Our d line is young & undersized. Plus our LB are slow. I think we need an upgrade more at lb.
